Rosalind Landor saved this story from being intolerable.
I have bought many of Kathleen Woodiwiss books, some certainly better than others, but the heroine in this story was literally unbelievably clueless!
I was almost too tired of her to slog through to the end.

The story meandered so badly that I skipped chapters in the middle and didn’t miss anything.
Was very descriptive of heroine’s imaginings of possible scenarios that ultimately led nowhere.

Hard to get through

Confident men are sexy, arrogant men are not.
It’s a a shame women are portrayed as so shallow that they will overlook verbal and emotional abuse because a man is so good-looking that they can’t resist his animal magnetism.
The heroine is supposed to be an extremely intelligent woman but yet she grovels for a misogynist’s attention.
Spare me!

S-L-O-W and tortuous to listen to.

I have read dozens of Koontz books and while most I enjoy, or LOVE (Frankenstein series), occasionally he puts out some stinkers that seem like he gets paid by the word. Sentences include 3 or 4 words of plot and action, but also 10 words of description or simile. Also, the main female character was so very whiny, negative, sarcastic, and totally unlikeable that it would have been a relief had she died early on.
This is by far the worst I have listened to in a few years. I would have given up but for being stuck in the car for 10 hours on a drive with my husband. The droning distracted him, and helped me to sleep!

Okay but not worth a sequel

Female narration was very poor when trying to voice any characters but the heroine; hard to get past.
Sex scenes really stretched out much too long; could have better spent the time developing the story.

A little disappointing

Started out quite well, fast paced enough to keep the length from being daunting but the unresolved ending was disappointing.
Won't follow this author.

good story-terrible narration

listened to it because it is a good story but struggled because the narrator seemed to want to whisper through the whole thing as if she was Marilyn Monroe/Ginger Grant, even when she was mimicking a male voice. It was really distracting and annoying.

4 chapters in and was still detailing inconsequential details not at all leading to any plot or story

Story was entertaining enough to keep me from getting bored with it nut narration was irritating. Everyone sounded the same except the little girl whom I wanted to give cough syrup to.

Regrettable

listened to several chapters before deciding there was no redeeming qualities in the 'heroine'. She was simpering, selfish, conniving, and petty until the end. The narrator portrayed her voice perfectly which made it even more impossible to enjoy. I gave up and skipped to the end to see if her character improved throuh the story but she did not.
