This would make a wonderful movie!

This would be great as a movie. It’s kind of a cross between a Hallmark movie and a Lifetime movie. A wonderful love story with trauma and survival. With an Nicholas Sparks type of ending. The narration was spot on. Loved this story!

I loved this story except for one very important thing. I thought maybe his father was messing with their messages or something other than the interception of the birthday card and balloons. I know he was hurting and not sure what to do, but it wasn’t her fault that he didn’t tell her. What he did to her is no comparison to what he thought she was doing to him. She tried to talk to him and ask him what was wrong. He didn’t even try. I’m glad they had there HEA but he got off the hook to easily. You would think that when she asked him years later what happened he would just say it. I had a best friend once who all of a sudden got very angry with me and stopped speaking to me. I asked her what was wrong and she just said “you know “. To this day I still don’t know what I did. I wish there had been someone interfering with their communication. It would have been easier to except his being a jerk.

I haven’t read all of Lili Valente’s books but I have read quite a few of them. This one was a little different. It gave a well developed background of the lovers before it even got close to their present day story. It also had some interesting twists that made for a great story. Loved it!

The ending was a bit rushed. Especially the lawsuit part. It seemed it was leading up to an intense drama and then it's just gone. I think it was there to show he would do anything for her. Which was against his nature. I also would have liked to have seen an enter action with her and his mother.Other than that I loved the story.

Good story. Horrible reading.

I liked the story but couldn’t stand the performance. I probably wouldn’t have listened if I hadn’t already listened to the first two books. It was hard for me to like Lance because of her interpretation. I was hoping after hearing her performance on the last story that she would have changed his voice since he was the lead. He sounded like the overdone villain. At least she’s consistent, unfortunately.
I don’t usually write reviews but I don’t think I can listen to another book by this reader.
