Historia
One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This is an urgent and necessary reckoning about what it means to live in the West today. As an immigrant, Omar El Akkad believed the West would be a place of freedom and justice for all. But in the past twenty years, reporting on the various Wars on Terror, Ferguson, climate change, Black Lives Matter protests and more, and watching the unmitigated slaughter in Gaza, he has come to the conclusion that much of what the West promises is a lie.

Tremendous historical integrity. A denouement of the hypocrisy
of the West. Courageous challenge of the West that professes its adherence to human rights but betrays these rights .

Historia
The World after Gaza takes the war in the Middle East, and the bitterly polarised reaction to it within as well as outside the West, as the starting point for a broad reevaluation of two competing narratives of the last century: the West’s triumphant account of victory over Nazi and communist totalitarianism and the spread of liberal capitalism, and the darker peoples’s frequently thwarted vision of racial equality. At a moment when the world’s balance of power is shifting, it is critically important to enter the experiences and perspectives of the majority of the world’s population.

Brilliant. A denouement of the denial and exploitation of massacres , colonialism and how some are preferenced over others. Especially interesting regarding Israel and its identification of the Shoah as entitlement.

Historia
Edinburgh, haunted by the ghosts of its many writers, is also the cold case beat of DCI Karen Pirie. So she shouldn't be surprised when an author's manuscript appears to be a blueprint for an actual crime. Karen can't ignore the plot's chilling similarities to the unsolved case of an Edinburgh University student who vanished from her own doorstep. The manuscript seems to be the key to unlocking what happened to Lara Hardie, but there's a problem: the author died before he finished it.

Historia
The Lost begins as the story of a boy who grew up in a family haunted by the disappearance of six relatives during the Holocaust - an unmentionable subject that gripped his imagination from earliest childhood. Decades later, spurred by the discovery of a cache of desperate letters written to his grandfather in 1939 and tantalized by fragmentary tales of a terrible betrayal, Daniel Mendelsohn sets out to find the remaining eyewitnesses to his relatives' fates.

Awesome superb devastating

A very powerful exploration of the holocaust. Experience of the dead the survivors and the descendants. The accents portrayed by the reader, were superb and invoked the accents I heard as a child.
The experience of these being the overfamiliar snippets of stories has now been brought to life for me. Particularly the story of my father and his lost family.
I found the juxtaposition of a harsh cruel god who demands obedience a stunning parallel to the cruel demands of fascism .

Historia
Sometimes solving climate change seems impossibly complex. This book offers hope. Drawing on the latest research, Mark Jaccard shows us how to recognize the absolutely essential actions (decarbonizing electricity and transport) and policies (regulations that phase out coal plants and gasoline vehicles, carbon tariffs). Rather than feeling paralyzed and pursuing ineffective efforts, we can all make a few key changes in our lifestyles to reduce emissions, to contribute to the urgently needed affordable energy transition in developed and developing countries.

Stunning, revelatory , hopeful in the climate emergency crisis.
Revisado: 02-28-20
This well researched book , is highly readable despite combining the two areas of common illiteracy. What is politically possible and what is essential for saving our planet. It proceeds to a denouement that will not disappoint the activist, the climate sincere politician ,or the economist. One of the more hopeful books written on solutions to our dire climate impasse. Professor Mark Jaccard is pragmatic yet passionate ,serious yet at times humorous, in this impressive work.
