Engrossing, twisty tale that defies genre labels

One of the best books I've read in recent years. I love Lee Goldberg's work, but I was a little hesitant on this one as it was quite different than his usual books. I admit I almost stopped early on when the the second story line began, but I am so glad I continued on. I thought I had figured out all of the twists in the story, but I kept getting surprised, up to and including the last line.
Both narrators did an excellent job, and the different voices helped separate the two converging story lines.
Highly recommended.

Great start to a new series spun off from the Everlasting Maine series. Aunt Polly crosses over and brings plenty of laughs. The author and narrator are both favorites of mine.

Catshifter Prince Rafe knows that technically he's supposed to be traveling to Earth to find a bride, but he doesn't see the need to rush things. Yeah, yeah, eventually he'll have to marry and set a good example for his people because on his planet females are rare, and they need to have children and blah blah blah. But honestly, catshifters are known to embrace their feral side and it would take a very impressive female to tame his. Then he sees Jenna Kearney and all bets are off.

Enjoyable escape from reality

i very much enjoyed this book. I was afraid at first that it would involve what amounts to a kidnapping against the heroine's will, but the the event played out in a manner that I found to be humorous and realistic, given the circumstances. I was drawn into the story and world the author created, and it was a disappointment when the book ended and I had to return to my life. I look forward to more from this author.

Excellent continuation of the series

I really enjoyed all aspects of this audiobook. I expected the story to follow a similar structure as the first book, but the story line was as unique as the heroine. Overall themes were continued, and the three friends grew in their power and knowledge of their new gifts, but this was a fresh plot. I loved seeing the main characters from a different viewpoint. I think this could be read as a stand-alone book, but there is more depth when taken as part of the ongoing story. I am looking forward to the next book.
