Historia
Celie has grown up poor in rural Georgia, despised by society and abused by her own family. She strives to protect her sister, Nettie, from a similar fate, and while Nettie escapes to a new life as a missionary in Africa, Celie is left behind without her best friend and confidante, married off to an older suitor, and sentenced to a life alone with a harsh and brutal husband. In an attempt to transcend a life that often seems too much to bear, Celie begins writing letters to God. The letters, spanning 20 years, record a journey of self-discovery and empowerment guided by the light of a few strong women.

Historia
As a doctor, I walk a dangerously delicate balance of being compassionate but not overly invested. The same is true in my personal life - love is a luxury I can’t afford. It isn’t until Dr. Westin Grant breaks down all my walls and offers me a future, I find myself wondering if I’m brave enough to risk my heart. When who I was and who I’ve tried to become collide during my clinical trial, the fate of one patient changes everything.

But for Elsa Wolcott, deemed too old to marry in a time when marriage is a woman’s only option, the future seems bleak. Until the night she meets Rafe Martinelli. Powerful, Keep Listening
Revisado: 05-13-21
I am 51 years of age. I have heard of the dust bowl and even watched the motion picture. I never truly understood this devastating way of life, at least not until now.
I loved this story. Great start, then details were drug out. It was a struggle to keep listening.
The narration was amazing, I decided to keep on listening. The story began to built and captivated my attention. I realized that all of the (drug out) details were very necessary.
This book left me with a pain in my heart and tears in my eyes. What an inspiration to keep up the good fight.

A memorable story for all times
Revisado: 03-07-21
This book is a must listen. The narration made the story come to life. I felt just like I was there with Billy, and his two dogs (Ole Dan and Little Ann). My imagination came to life and I just couldn't stop listening. This wholesome story filled heart with so many emotions. I can't believe I waited until I was 51 to experience this journey back in the mountains, but I'm glad that I did.

Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

It is a beautifully written journey into LIFE. Your life, my life, a life of should've, could've, would've. This beautiful story will be my one of my favorites for many years to come.
The narration was perfectly suited for the mood This is definitely a book that I will recommend and listen to again.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

I wasn't sure whenever I first started listening. it was close to the end of my shift. I had listened to the introduction then a bit of the 1st chapter.
Next day, I started my shift and remember where I left off. I listened some then decided to start the read over. I was glad I did. I wanted to refresh my mind of all the details.
I loved the story and the details.
I'm a Mississippi girl and am very familiar with my neighbor, New Orleans.
I imagined myself in that world of mythical creatures and humans. We live in such a diverse culture, why not. The story line was great and my attention was totally captivated.
I listened to it straight through.

I love stories on true life. I have been moved in a way almost indescribable. I couldn't put it down. I struggled to describe my emotions as the book came to an end. Life is so precious and meaningful but yet it can be cold and cruel in this old world.
