It’s not my favorite in the series. I will say this narrator’s voice is much better than the that if the first few books as it’s less screechy. I did like the hints at the Hook book though. Doubt I’ll listen again.

This book hurt my soul. Yet, I got off easy compared to this poor family. The bravery of these girls, now women, is astounding. The father is another story. While listening to this may be painful, it is crucial for the public to be aware that this type of abuse happens. Teachers and other public workers need to KNOW THE SIGNS of abuse to look for and REPORT IT! Surely, their teachers noticed when they wore the SAME CLOTHES for days on end. This is the type of stuff we should look for to provide protective assistance to these abused children. Educate yourself.

so tragic and awful yet lovely and beautiful in the end. Raymond did cause generational pain - his culture surely taught to believe that way. But the mom is so sweet and delightful. the son is a gem for reuniting the family. There is much more healing needed. it will come.
