Historia
A few minutes before midnight on April 14, 1912, the "unsinkable" RMS Titanic, on her maiden voyage to New York, struck an iceberg. Less than three hours later she lay at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. While the world has remained fascinated by the tragedy, the most amazing drama of those fateful hours was not played out aboard the doomed liner. It took place on the decks of two other ships, one 58 miles distant from the sinking Titanic, the other barely 10 miles away.

Amazing story

I couldn’t stop listening. It is incredible to learn the difference in response from the captains of the two ships closest to the Titanic at the time of her sinking.

Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

Historia
When Lawrence Anthony learned that the northern white rhino, living in the war-ravaged Congo, was on the very brink of extinction, he knew he had to act. If the world lost the sub-species, it would be the largest land mammal since the woolly mammoth to go extinct. In The Last Rhinos, Anthony recounts his attempts to save these remarkable animals. The demand for rhino horns in the Far East has turned poaching into a dangerous black market that threatens the lives of not just these rare beasts, but also the rangers who protect them.

Heart wrenchingly beautiful
Revisado: 08-29-17
Having now read all three of Lawrence Anthony and Graham Spence's books, I am heartbroken that there are not more of Mr. Anthony's words to read. Both these men are fantastic storytellers and Mr. Anthony was most certainly a mystical force of nature himself.
Like their other two books, this will leave you laughing, crying, in awe, in shock, and pleading for more. The world has suffered a great loss in the death of Lawrence Anthony; hearing his words spoken by his brother in law feels a great privilege.

Story > narration
Revisado: 07-21-16
This story is great. I've loved the series so far. I was severely disappointed when I discovered that the narrator is different for books one and two. I felt that Jacob's voice, that of a 16 year old boy who is barely figuring it out, was lost within Heyborne's performance. The Heyborne's style lends more to an omnipotent narrator than the story suggests.
Despite the performance the story is sure to win you over.

Interview with author the saving grace
Revisado: 05-12-16
I listened to the free prequel and was so excited to listen. I kept waiting for it to get better and for the main character to stop being so full of self pity. I hated the ending even more than I hated the ending of the Divergent series.
The saving grace really was the interview with the author at the end. After hearing why she wrote this story and the inspirations for it I felt less negativity towards the book but still very frustrated.
