Historia
The year is 1739. Eliza Lucas is sixteen years old when her father leaves her in charge of their family’s three plantations in rural South Carolina and then proceeds to bleed the estates dry in pursuit of his military ambitions. Tensions with the British, and with the Spanish in Florida, just a short way down the coast, are rising, and slaves are starting to become restless. Her mother wants nothing more than for their South Carolina endeavor to fail so they can go back to England. Soon her family is in danger of losing everything.

Title: A Masterpiece of Depth Humanity and history
Revisado: 12-31-24
I absolutely loved Shaman by Noah Gordon. From the very first page to the last, I was completely fascinated. The depth of the story, the richness of the characters, and the incredible humanity woven throughout every moment make this book unforgettable. Gordon’s knowledge and attention to detail bring the historical setting to life in a way that feels both immersive and deeply moving. This is storytelling at its finest, and I can’t recommend it enough. A truly extraordinary read!

Another amazing book by Ken Follett
Revisado: 09-15-24
I was worried that by this book the plot and the story will not be as good as previously, but this book has been amazing and to be honest, I was caught up in it very quickly, possibly even sooner than the previous books. I loved it.

Historia
In her mesmerizing fourth work of fiction, Sue Monk Kidd takes an audacious approach to history and brings her acclaimed narrative gifts to imagine the story of a young woman named Ana. Raised in a wealthy family with ties to the ruler of Galilee, she is rebellious and ambitious, with a brilliant mind and a daring spirit. She engages in furtive scholarly pursuits and writes narratives about neglected and silenced women. Ana is expected to marry an older widower, a prospect that horrifies her. An encounter with 18-year-old Jesus changes everything.

Great book and narration. Further research was needed for accurate narration
Revisado: 03-21-24
I enjoyed the book very much as well as the narration. However, I would expect the production to do better research about the pronunciation of various names, prayers, and places according to Jewish / Aramaic origin. Those words were wrongly pronounced by the narrator.
I don’t think it takes too much to sit with someone and get an accurate pronunciation of those words and avoid the spread of wrong words.
Example: the Shema, the Jewish prayer of “Shemah Israel” was not pronounced correctly over and over.
Could seem insignificant but it’s important for the reliability and proper education of the readers.

Beautiful story!
Revisado: 03-09-24
I loved the story! Loved learning about the indigenous customs and the tea culture. Great book!
I don’t get the narration production. Why put all these people to play all these characters in the book? It really ruined my experience, especially the voice of young Haley. What were they thinking? Just read the story. The main narrator was great. They should’ve just stuck to that one.

Historia
Marion Woodman believes that centuries of “patriarchal thinking” have stripped the soul from our inner and outer lives and placed the world in grave danger. In talks, workshops, and BodySoul Rhythms intensives in Canada, the United States, and Europe, she has urged us to engage with the unconscious energy that erupts beneath the surface of our best intentions, sending us where we may not want to go. In this lecture and through case studies, dreams, and myths, the Jungian analyst explores the hidden causes of compulsion in the lives of men and women.
