Historia
Tony Webster and his clique first met Adrian Finn at school. Sex-hungry and book-hungry, they would navigate the girl-less sixth form together, trading in affectations, in-jokes, rumour, and wit. Maybe Adrian was more serious than the others, certainly more intelligent, but they all swore to stay friends for life. Now Tony is retired. He’s had a career and a single marriage, a calm divorce. He’s certainly never tried to hurt anybody. Memory, though, is imperfect. It can always throw up surprises, as a lawyer’s letter is about to prove.

I'm No Literary critic, BUT...
Revisado: 01-02-12
A very well written book that maximizes the power of words to tell the story. The author is a master at bringing to life his feelings and emotions and you are with him when he arrives at new revelations about himself and his past. A journey of discovery that enabled me to start my own reexamination of past events. A joy to listen to!

Disappointed
Revisado: 03-31-11
The title, summary and setting promised an exciting adventure mixed with a good dose of history and fiction. From my view, the story was 25% history with no characters that you could care about and a plot that was all about robbing ancient tombs. I purchased this book because of its high ratings and story line but I was misled.

Engaging Listen
Revisado: 02-23-05
A refreshing story about another culture in an earlier era. The characters come to life with emotion and feeling. Although filled with acts of cruelty and love, it is a beautiful and delightful listen.
