“I don’t want you to hate me like I hate me.” Wow, that hit a little too deep. I knew Iris and Cas’s story was gonna be sad and deep, but I didn’t realize it was gonna break my heart. It was both tragic and beautiful. I felt so angry and sad for Iris. I could almost feel Iris’s sorrow and despair as my own. And Caspian’s blind loyalty to Alexander and his inability to see what he was doing to Iris in the beginning was so frustrating 😭 I really loved that their story was told in a non-linear format. It gave the story much more weight to it. Liam did a phenomenal job as usual 😍

This story isn’t gonna be for everyone. More often than not, the “forbidden relationship” trope isn’t even really forbidden. It’s more of just “kinda shouldn’t be together” but there’s no real consequence to them being together that isn’t all internal conflict. This one is definitely off the charts taboo. A truly forbidden relationship between two very flawed characters that has the potential to hurt a lot of people around them. It’s toxic and messy and dirty and I loved it. The brat/daddy dynamic between Elias and Zeke is electric and hot as hell. Since the first book I knew that Elias’s story was gonna be 🔥🔥🔥 I can’t usually connect with stories that involve infidelity, but this one works. Michael Dean does an amazing job as always.

I’m not usually one to be bothered much by bad narration as I have a decent imagination and can make up my own interpretation of the character voices in my head. However, the guy who voiced Sam’s chapters was just atrocious. I have no idea why he chose to make Sam sound like the dumb kid from Good Burger, but it kept pulling me out of the story and giving me second hand embarrassment every time his chapters came up. Jesse’s narrator was great and I have to wonder why they didn’t just stick with his like they did for the two previous books.

The story overall was cute and hot, a lot less angsty than the first two and just more fun. Jesse is sassy and hilarious, and I very much adored his character. The sex scenes were good, but there were a lot of their sexual encounters that were glossed over and “fade to black” style. Being that almost all of this was new to Sam, it seemed like a weird choice to gloss over most of their encounters. I still enjoyed the trilogy as a whole, Nate and Eric’s story being my favorite 🥰
