This book brings you into the daily life of a mother and a wife dying of cancer told by her loving daughter. Julies' love for her mother is clear as she shares her mother's journey through breast cancer.
I was drawn into her story as she details the last years of her mother's fight with cancer. Her mom's will to live with cancer over the course of 3 years was both encouraging and sad at the same time.
Perhaps the loss of my mother to dementia makes this story more personal for me but I found it engaging as Julie brings you into the day-to-day realities involving everything from trips to the doctor, interacting with family and friends, and even some of the hard decisions as her mother slowly lost her independence to the ravaging disease known as cancer.
Her positive attitude, as well as her mother's insurmountable spirit, is truly an example of how to die with dignity that we would do well to follow when our own time comes.
Their family's faith in God is apparent throughout. If you or someone you love is facing the grief that comes with a fatal diagnosis, I would definitely recommend listening to this book.
