Historia
Here, celebrating the 20th anniversary of its debut as a New York Times best seller, is the revised, updated, and expanded edition of the classic anti-textbook that changed the way we look at history. First published two decades ago, when the “closing of the American mind” was in the headlines, Don’t Know Much About History proved Americans don’t hate history - just the dull version that was dished out in school. Now Davis has brought his groundbreaking work up to the present, including the history of an “Era of Broken Trust"....

I have the actual book and was reading along with audible . I realized it skipped all of chapter 1 and part of chapter 2 . Which makes no sense at all.

Historia
America has made mental illness a crime. Jails in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago each house more people with mental illnesses than any hospital. In this revelatory book, journalist Alisa Roth goes deep inside the criminal justice system to tell how and why it has become a warehouse where inmates are denied proper treatment, abused, and punished in ways that make them sicker. Through intimate stories of people in the system and those trying to fix it, Roth reveals the hidden forces behind this crisis and suggests how a fairer and more humane approach might look.

This book was heartbreaking and eye opening. I myself have a mental illness and wasn’t aware how badly people as myself could be treated. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Tavia Gilbert did a fantastic job reading this book.

Historia
Poisoner, despot, necromancer - the dark legend of Catherine de Medici is centuries old. In this critically hailed biography, Leonie Frieda reclaims the story of this unjustly maligned queen to reveal a skilled ruler battling extraordinary political and personal odds - from a troubled childhood in Florence to her marriage to Henry, son of King Francis I of France; from her transformation of French culture to her fight to protect her throne and her sons' birthright. Based on thousands of private letters, it is a remarkable account of one of the most influential women to wear a crown.

Fantastic book

I loved this book. The story of Catherine was amazingly told. The voice actress did a fantastic job. The book was well written and filled with information about Catherine, her children and other important people back in the early 1500s.

I loved how she filled it in with so much information and did it in a way that stayed on topic. I learned a lot and definitely will be check out more of her books. Great job to the lady who did the reading. The voice was clear and she wasn’t reading too fast.
