Historia
Rob didn't think of himself as anyone special, but when a pitch-black portal tried to wrap his best friend in chains, he stepped up without thinking and found himself ensnared instead. His moment of heroism results in being torn away from everyone he knew and loved, kidnapped by an unknown force that leaves him with a note in his pocket stating: "Good luck." After being thrown into the wilderness of Elatra, a hostile fantasy world ruled by levels, stats, progression, and bizarre video game logic, he finds himself entirely out of his depth.

Banter get
Revisado: 08-15-24
The witticisms of the mc get the carry here. The degree of impossible situations is just enough to be enticing but not overly frustrating. Love the series.

Historia
Just yesterday, Ben was a petty criminal getting by on fleecing New York’s one-percenters. Today, he's got a new face, a new name, and a new world to navigate. And Ben’s thinking maybe this time around, he’ll use his skills at disarming and deceiving to help out people other than himself. Maybe. Watching a medieval City Guard fight off a 20-foot-tall ooze that crawled up from the sewers will make you think twice about life decisions.

A fun protagonist
Revisado: 08-11-24
I grow weary of complicated and conflicted protagonists. I wanted a story in which a good guy does questionable things for good ends against bad guys.
The cheek and intriguing choices of the protagonist make it entertaining.

Historia
Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year-old body on another world. His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. What’s a boy to do in a world full of magic and so many, many hungry creatures searching for their next meal? Well, there’s an old man inside that body, and he'll use everything he’s learned to survive.

A good listen.
Revisado: 01-13-23
The story is a bit heavy on the psycho analysis. But the general pacing and action were engaging enough to keep my listening.

Historia
Due to unusual circumstances, Randidly starts in an isolated dungeon far beyond his level, forced to rely on the mysterious Traveler Shal in order to learn and survive with the dangerous new status quo for his world. But survive he does, only to leave the dungeon and discover that while he experienced several hellish months in the dungeon, only half a day passed on Earth. Randidly's capabilities are now more than enough to help build a small enclave of survivors, but that doesn't mean balancing his sense of responsibility against the plots of an unfriendly town will be easy.

Straightforward enough to satisfy and clever enough to engage.
Revisado: 07-23-22
I get tired of the litrpg that turns into a civ game. This is about the rpg part which I love. The main character is deep enough to seem realish but not so real that it’s mcu melodrama.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Protagonist seems a bit preachy
Revisado: 01-14-22
I enjoy the cheekiness of the protagonist but wow. Things often get a bit preachy. I’d rather see his perspectives through his actions instead of having the author lecture me through Jason’s monologues.
Great performance as usual.

Historia
Keras Selyrian is already well on the way to cutting his name into the annals of legend. He’s fought false divinities, thieving sorcerers, and corrupt demigods - and left them defeated in his wake. But he’s a long way from home, and Kaldwyn offers a different brand of danger than he’s used to. He’s already got a sword of unfathomable power, but it’s damaged and leaking world-annihilating mana, so he’s in the market for a new one. Possibly six. The more the better, really.

The story of a super powered moron.
Revisado: 08-31-19
Listening to the protagonist hold back over and over at the detriment of those he claims to care about is maddening.
I actually began wishing he would just die.
The writing is colorful and stylistically pleasing. The character development within their personalities is well done. Essentially, the writer is talented at the wiring but the protagonist is infuriating and flatly moronic.

Stupidity made me so angry I couldn’t listen further
Revisado: 06-16-19
This protagonist is an idiot. For three books I’ve been patient and waited for him to wise up. Well, he rose/sunk to new levels of idiocy and thus I am done.
The author has a nice writing style and many of the side characters are fun but the main character is now someone I cannot root for and for this genre I think that’s pivotal.

Entertaining but can seem reaching.
Revisado: 06-10-19
The author has a great storytelling talent. The ins and outs of the plot make for good drama as well as some humor. However the one drawback is at times in an effort to wax poetic the diction seems a tad forced. This is rare but does happen.
Overall an excellent story and great performance.

Cultural quirks add and subtract.
Revisado: 03-10-19
The author is good at creating a plot line that engages and grows. The protagonist is intriguing enough. There are cultural differences that make his actions and words quirky at some points but is good enough to be appropriately engaging.
