Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Fairy Tale by Stephen King is a captivating novel that takes the reader on a thrilling journey to a parallel world where dark forces are at work. The protagonist, Charlie, is a teenager who inherits a mysterious house and a portal to another realm from a reclusive neighbor. He soon discovers that he has a vital role to play in saving both worlds from a sinister enemy known as the Fair One. Along the way, he encounters talking animals, magical objects, and terrifying creatures that will test his courage and resolve.
King’s writing is masterful, as he creates a vivid and immersive fantasy world that is both familiar and strange. He blends elements of horror, adventure, and fairy tale, with references to his own previous works and other classics of the genre. The plot is fast-paced and full of twists and turns, keeping the reader hooked until the end. The characters are well-developed and relatable, especially Charlie, who grows from a troubled boy to a heroic young man.
Fairy Tale is a must-read for fans of Stephen King and fantasy in general. It is a spellbinding story that explores the themes of loss, love, loyalty, and destiny. It is also a testament to the power of imagination and storytelling, as King shows us how a fairy tale can be both terrifying and inspiring.

Again- Washington settings that are all familiar to me. The Hansville connections. The Kitsap county sheriffs. This story has you being happy that the killer was caught. And then you still have 2 hours left because that’s not the end of the story! Awesome job! It’s flows well and easy listen! Great story line and the little continuous back story that is looking to grow even bigger! I recommend THIS SERIES to any crime junkie!

Ok- I will admit since I live where this story is written, it’s even better!
But…
After meeting the author at a local market(Kingston) I was looking forward to listening to book 1!
It did NOT disappoint! I’ve been listening to a lot of audio mystery’s - book 1’s of a lot of new authors. This was presented great. It made me jump write into the characters. Even though the story line is a little on the Dark side- he describes in detail in a way that doesn’t overwhelm the reader(listener).
While doing some yard work and some drive time- I was done in 2 days!
Already downloaded book 2!
Highly recommend it!
(Ps. If you do download and like too- let me know what other books you think I would like)
