Historia
I never thought in a million years that the bones would choose me. The power, the magic, was supposed to go to someone else in the family. I was counting on it. But now my Grammy Ruby is gone, and here the bones sit on my kitchen table. I thought bitter relatives would be my biggest problem. But I’ve barely had time to find a familiar before trouble comes a-knocking. The kind that possesses smoldering green eyes and a smile that can turn any woman dumb. His name is Rogan Kendrick, and he’s certain that someone is hunting down and taking my kind. According to him, I’m next.

Pop Culture reference 101
Revisado: 02-28-24
The overuse of Pop culture references was forced and annoying. Same can be said for the main characters apparent focus on sexuality. A trashy romance with a little bit of magic. Not a fan. I won’t be continuing the series.

Historia
They survived the Alaskan winter after the Virus devastated the North, but summer in the land of the midnight sun is fraught with a brutality of its own - long, grueling days, mosquito-ridden evenings, and woods with lurking shadows more dangerous than grizzlies. With the discovery of impossible superhuman Abilities, and the looming threat of General Herodson in the lower forty-eight, the Yukon is no longer the refuge it once was.

Great voices/good overall story.
Revisado: 12-14-23
The concept and direction of the story was good. The intrigue was good, but the repetitive emotional angst became somewhat tiresome. The abrupt ending and lack of fleshing-out of the “summit”part of the story was disappointing. The voice actors had fabulous characterizations. I enjoyed that aspect a great deal!

Pronunciation is important
Revisado: 06-21-23
I enjoyed the story and the variety of voices used by the reader. However, she mispronounced so many words! Boundary, soot (she corrected it later in the book), and others. She is such an entertaining reader that if she corrects this facet of her performance, it would be a five star review.

Music is unnecessary
Revisado: 09-19-22
The story was good. The narration was good. The added music was terrible. Just no.

Historia
The formerly glorious god Apollo, cast down to earth in punishment by Zeus, is now an awkward mortal teenager named Lester Papadopoulos. In order to regain his place on Mount Olympus, Lester must restore five Oracles that have gone dark. But he has to achieve this impossible task without having any godly powers and while being duty-bound to a confounding young daughter of Demeter named Meg. Thanks a lot, Dad. With the help of some demigod friends, Lester managed to survive his first two trials, one at Camp Half-Blood, and one in Indianapolis, where Meg received the Dark Prophecy.

This book had the most shocking moment I have ever read in a Riordan book.
In reading the audible version, I must say Robbie Daymond is likely the finest interpreter I have heard. He has even improved since the first book of this series.
