Frances Janvier spends most of her time studying. Everyone knows Aled Last as that quiet boy who gets straight A's. You probably think that they are going to fall in love or something. Since he is a boy and she is a girl. They don't. They make a podcast. Radio Silence was amazing! I look forward to listening to it again soon. Alex’s story is compelling in its dealing with Alex’s mom, sister and friends.

Tomi Adeyemi is an amazing author and her style evokes so many feelings and thoughts. Blending the cosmic story with earthly life, she helps the reader look beyond the ordinary. Her story reminds us how where injustice lives, peace cannot be found.

Historia
In his decades as a globally recognized teacher, Richard Rohr has helped millions realize what is at stake in matters of faith and spirituality. Yet Rohr has never written on the most perennially talked about topic in Christianity: Jesus. Most know who Jesus was, but who was Christ? Drawing on scripture, history, and spiritual practice, Rohr articulates a transformative view of Jesus Christ as a portrait of God’s constant, unfolding work in the world.

Historia
In A Change of Affection, Becket Cook shares his testimony as someone who was transformed by the power of the Gospel. His dramatic conversion to Christianity and subsequent seminary training inform his views on homosexuality - personally, biblically, theologically, and culturally - and his compelling audiobook guides listeners through this complex and controversial issue while revealing how to lovingly engage with those who disagree.

Name dropping but sad
Revisado: 07-30-19
Most of the audiobook feels like a cross between a born again account of faith without action, and an advertisement for over privileged gay men. Each person’s faith journey is unique, but as a Christian this account doesn’t show me how to live like Christ, giving all to those in need, in both body and soul, as Christ did.

Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

Older translation with monotone voice
Revisado: 09-06-18
The translation of The Introduction to the Devout Life, is the oldest one and may be difficult for some listeners to follow. The narrator sounds more like a computer than a person, so the book feels like a boring lecture instead of a tool to deepen one’s spiritual life. Perhaps the John Ryan, OSFS translation will become available at some point.
