"No time to delay. Do what you were born to do. Fame will be yours when you do this." These are the words that ring in the mind of mild-mannered, beloved schoolteacher Cora Gundersun - just before she takes her own life, and many others', in a shocking act of carnage. When the disturbing contents of her secret journal are discovered, it seems certain that she must have been insane. But Jane Hawk knows better.

I thought I liked all his books!
Revisado: 01-01-25
I thought there was Dean Koontz book I wouldn't like until I found this one. I am surprised to find so many good reviews. To me this doesn't feel or sound like a book by Dean Koontz. I am "listening" and I dread how slow and disperse the story telling is. I am 30% through the book, and I just can't find the will power to push through. I will attempt a return. Dont get me wrong it's not terrible I just feel Dean Koontz went totally off his genre here and with all respect he fell extremely short. if I was into conspiracy story books, i would be a fan of James Paterson or Tom Clancy, but I am not. I like their books, but I have so much more fun usually with Dean Koontz fantatic imagination ... which is barely found in this book.

AG Riddle never disappointed me... until now
Revisado: 03-22-24
I have trouble believing A.G. Riddle can write such a shallow, weak book. This second part feels like a High School assignment turned in late... The same charming characters from the first book suddenly lost their charisma and intelligence. I refuse to believe the writer of the Atlantis Gene could fall this low. I am trying hard, but I'm dreading finishing it. I even tried sipping ahead to avoid sections that were too dumb and off-topic. Putting aside the 5-year-old "science" premise of the Series, the first book was fun and it had valuable lessons and epic moments. This 2nd book has amazing quotes and Ideas from the "Birthright" in-book book. I wish it was a real book. So AG's talent is still in there, somewhere lost in the pages of this "The Real Housewives of the End of the World". It really feels like if each character in the 1st book had their IQ reduced in the 2nd book. Even the Artificial Intelligence ones ! I've read worse books, but I just can't get over this book being A.G. Riddle's, big disappointment.

Amazing story telling, great plain old police mystery turns mind bending thriller! When I thought there was no possible satisfying explanation... the author surprised me with a wonderful smart twist, that I didn't see coming!

Historia
Hugh had been taught that, according to the ancient sacred writings, the Ship was on a voyage to faraway Centaurus. But he also understood this was just allegory for a voyage to spiritual perfection. Indeed, how could the Ship move, since its miles and miles of metal corridors were all there was of creation? Science knew that the Ship was all the universe, and as long as the sacred Converter was fed, the lights would continue to glow, the air would flow, and the Creator's Plan would be fulfilled.

This book is a great philosophical idea
Revisado: 11-16-22
imagine redesigning the whole human culture from the survivors of a riot inside a massive ship. I think the idea had much more potential than what was delivered. It is hard for me not to find stupid the idea of cannibalism in space. It is also very disgusting that females in the book are nameless possessions with no story lines.

Historia
Stranger in a Strange Land is the epic saga of an earthling, Valentine Michael Smith, born and educated on Mars, who arrives on our planet with “psi” powers—telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, telekinesis, teleportation, pyrolysis, and the ability to take control of the minds of others—and complete innocence regarding the mores of man. After his tutelage under a surrogate father figure, Valentine begins his transformation into a kind of messiah.

Only read if you are into Reality Shows !
Revisado: 10-24-22
I always said Heinlen was one of my 3 favorite authors. I really can't understand where his brain was when he wrote the last 20 chapters, it was awfully painful read. After Mike's welcome ceremony (avoiding spoilers) I could do nothing but beg for this torture to end! I know, I could have stopped reading but this is supposed to be Heinlein's master piece ... so I push through in disbelieve. it didn't get any better . Honestly I figured this maybe am an intersection book only to people that enjoy TV like the Real housewife's shows (which I hate) so maybe this book is not for me. but after 20 chapters (about 6 hours) of who is sleeping with who, and as they lecture each other in anarchy, sexism , cannibalism and promiscuity, the "read" just sounds more and more stupid, outdated , and wrong even for 1960! Heinlein is a great writer, but to me this would go in history like the book I languished the most while reading in disgust.

Historia
In A Scattered Life, Karen McQuestion proves to be an adept chronicler of unforgettable female characters. Poignantly written, she thoughtfully examines how women love, learn, and come to accept themselves and others, as well as life’s often harsh realities of deception and loss. Skyla Plinka has all she could ask for - at least that’s what her mother-in-law Audrey thinks. On most days, Skyla agrees, yet there’s a part of her that longs for her free-spirited days before husband, child, and the humdrum life of rural Wisconsin.

An interesting story about Nothing at all.
Revisado: 03-22-22
I struggled to be finish this book, but I can tell I am the wrong audience for it. I hate reality shows, and this is a book about ... day to day suburbs life? . No flare, good take away. but not my kind of book.
