I chew through a fair few audiobooks and it’s rare that I take the time to write a review, let alone give 5 stars in all categories, but this book deserves it.
Every chapter was so relevant to what we’re learning in medical school today and I would recommend it to anyone student or qualified in the healthcare profession because it highlights the importance of communication which is essential to all. It’s also a great read from a patient perspective about how to get the most out of your medical encounters and help you be on the same page with your treating team. I look forward to reading (or rather listening to) Ofri’s other books.

First one of these I’ve listened to. Was specifically looking for a pep talk this morning before a big day ahead. I came across these just scrolling before I’d even searched pep talk and I’m so glad I did. Look forward to listening to more.

This book creates great insight into the personal life and emotions of doctors in their internship and early years in general. Has a nice flow to the story. A good read for early medical professionals struggling with self doubt.

I was a bit skeptical when i downloaded this one, initially I didn't like the readers voice but it really grew on me as it went along and was kind of perfect for the job. I've always been interested in medicine, particularly surgery, but this series gave me a broader perspective and makes general practitioner or internist career paths sound like appealing options. The only lecture I didn't enjoy was the public cardiac arrest case, only because I'm a paramedic so I have my biases there. I also liked how it was not only aimed at improving skills if you are already a medical professional but also good for the general listener to be a better patient. We're all patients at some point or another!

5th book of the series better than ever, bit of a different story line from the previous books to spice things up and honestly couldn’t pick the ending which is refreshing for any book.

Once again a great work by Reichs & Co, great for both teens & adults. The narrator did pronounce a few words incorrectly, which was a little distracting but overall a good performance and consistent voices for characters.
