Historia
Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

Historia
Tending bar at the ancient saloon on old Route 66 seems like the perfect way to sort things out.
At least, that was the plan. But then the letters started arriving. Funny, rambling confessions of love from an unknown admirer, postmarked from every corner of the world. A Polaroid photo in each letter reveals a tantalizing glimpse of their sender, but never his true identity. And always the same strange sign off - Don't order dog. Jeri can't help but be intrigued.

PAGE TURNER!
Revisado: 04-23-15
Would you listen to Don't Order Dog again? Why?
This is one of the best spy -thriller-espionage books I've read in many, many years. Some of the character's language is pretty raw but I decided to hang in as I was hooked! I can't wait for the 2nd in this new series.
What other book might you compare Don't Order Dog to and why?
It reminded me somewhat of Robert Galbraith novels - Cuckoo's Calling and The Silkworm. I can't think of any higher praise!
What about Paul Michael’s performance did you like?
It seemed natural and real.

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

TEDIOUS
Revisado: 03-02-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Chapters 1 - 15 were the most boring imaginable. Pace finally picked up at Chapter 16 through the conclusion. I kept wondering who edited this book and how it ever got published not to mention how it managed to get 4+ star reviews.
What could Daniel James Brown have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Cut out Chapters 1 - 15.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Edward Herrmann?
Narrator was okay considering the fact he didn't have much to work with.
What character would you cut from The Boys in the Boat?
Well, really, there was only one that was highlighted.
Any additional comments?
The author should take lessons from Hector Tobar who wrote Down Deep Dark. Those characters came to life!

Historia
One Sunday in the spring of 1988, a woman living on a reservation in North Dakota is attacked. The details of the crime are slow to surface as Geraldine Coutts is traumatized and reluctant to relive or reveal what happened, either to the police or to her husband, Bazil, and 13-year-old son, Joe. In one day, Joe's life is irrevocably transformed. He tries to heal his mother, but she will not leave her bed and slips into an abyss of solitude. Increasingly alone, Joe finds himself thrust prematurely into an adult world for which he is ill prepared.

TEDIOUS
Revisado: 12-20-12
What disappointed you about The Round House?
This book is tedious with a bunch of short stories patched together. The reader's voice is just odd. I quit about 1/4 of the way through it.
What was most disappointing about Louise Erdrich’s story?
I seemed very disjointed. I'm not sure the rape was the primary focus ... she seemed to lose track of what she was talking about.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Strange accent, strange cadence ...
