I Really thought about dropping this book, as it took a while to get to the heart of the story. I ended up loving the heroine of this story. Once I finally got to meet her the book was great.
I also want to mention that I preferred the female narrator. I felt the male made some poor almost stereotypical woman intonations which were distracting and off pointing. I keep imagining how the female narrator would say the line to get past it.

I really enjoyed the story,but was distracted by the female narrators exaggerated ending to her phrasing. The male narrator was good and had a great speech flow.

I have NEVER disliked on of Maya's book before but this one I just didn't like. The woman lead was annoying and her thought processes made zero sense. I get that she is damaged from her past but it was unrealistic. Also the hammering on and on about Zack's feelings about their relationship... WE GET IT!!! He didn't like the girl!
This book just was a let down to the 2 previous in the series. There were threads that the story could have picked up that were left untouched making a very two dimensional and predictable plot. Very dissatisfying.
In addition, I am not a fan of the narrator. He has passion in his inflections that help but for some reason he just sounded like Charlie Sheen reading a book. It was distracting. Worse with the drool story writing.
Sorry to be so negative but I am very disappointed.

I enjoyed the story

I hate to be negative but the performance of the narrator was highly distracting and took some of my enjoyment away. I love Maya Banks writing and tend to purchase the audiobooks since I have a ridiculously long commute, to and from work. The heavy accented speech drove me crazy. I wish she would have just read it straight.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I loved how the series was going with the first two books. Burn seemed like it was ...well. rushed, like She ran out of ideas of where to go with it. The story was just good. instead of the awesome I was expecting. I REALLY wanted to loved , but just like it and over all it was a let down to the series build up.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Not sure but something along the lines of Maya, Nora, J.R....
