What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

It would not be possible to make this book 4 or 5 star unless Warren takes it off the shelf and rewrites it with the same enthusiam that was so infectious in the first book.

I don't know what happened to Warren on this one. After buying the Best damn sales I couldn't wait to buy another book.

Firstly it was edited very badly. A lot of silent space between the chapters.

Second it was too short,

Thirdly, did not cover any real tips for an aspiring starting manager who doesn't have the hiring ability or the ability to offer big incentives. Most people starting in management need help building and motivating a team. We need help in the financial and strategic planning. WARREN LIKE THE SALES BOOK!!!! where you talked through how to planhow many calls If you have already reached this level you wouldn't need a self help book.

It was just story after story about his Kids or the Giants coach. He even mentioned that he was an awful sales manager.

This was just a money spinner and quite frankly I would take this off the shelf Warren. You may get a second sale after the Sales Book but you won't get a third or a fourth.

What could Warren Greshes have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Re listen to your sales book or listen to this book. it won't take a genius to work out the difference.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

You just seemed completely lost and un focused.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Best Damn Management Book Ever?

First the Silences.

Second the stories about your wonderful parenting which start off mildly amusing and by the end of the first half extremely irritating. All parents thinks their children are wonderful and I am glad they have turned into wonderful achieving adults, but this will not help me adjust into a role as junior manager.

Thirdly, I hate sports but i wouldn't have minded one or two stories but not one and a half hours.

Any additional comments?

Do yourself and your company a favor and remove this book from any shelf or book store in the world

What did you love best about The Best Damn Sales Book Ever?

I not only recieved great advice which will help propel my career, but I was in stitches lauging. The only thing wrong with this book is the title. I would call it The Best Damn Life coach book ever.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There wasn't any fictional characters. My favourite story was the Ninja Turtles. I won't spoil it for anybody else. I just had a pain from laughing so much.

Have you listened to any of Warren Greshes’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first but not the last book

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I have listened and re listered to this performance several times already. It is not your usual self help book which is why I bought it after hearing the sample.

Would you consider the audio edition of Smiley's People to be better than the print version?

I don't normally compare, I enjoy both in different reasons. I enjoy Audio books in the Car on my commute and If I am travelling.

The written books I enjoy if I get a free couple of hours.

Who was your favorite character and why?

George Smiley, a close second Peter guillam and Oliver Lacon. George has a conscience which must be both an asset and a liability in the Job. He is never allowed to just retire and maybe he just can't whilst Karla is sitting atop moscow centre.

Peter isn't as central as he was in Tinker Tailor or The Honourable Schoolboy, but I think he looks to George more like an Uncle than a Friend and Colleague. He never really gets the full picture from George until last and George seems to protect Peter from Sol Enderby and Co.

I seen so many Oliver Lacons in my career. He is Georges superior but Oliver needs George more that George needs Oliver. George is the type of Journeyman in a firm that knows his stuff, knows how things work etc and Oliver has the top job and needs George to keep him looking good.

This time Oliver's wife has left him and I think he suddenly realises the pain George must have felt over his difficult marriage to Ann. He wants George's advice but George does what a real friend would do and let Oliver talk without giving advice.

What about Michael Jayston’s performance did you like?

Excellent as Usual.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

During the interogation in Switzerland, without giving away the plot. George is compared to Karla. This is the beginning of the conclusion when George realises that he has become his nemesis.

Any additional comments?

Although I Enjoyed the Book. The Ending was very Swift and Bare. Both in the Honourable Schoolboy and Smileys people I just felt that there could have been more to say. For example what happened at Sarratt afterwards with their Golddust etc.

What became of George, Peter and Oliver. After reading the trio They have become like family. What became of the circus etc.

This is my only gripe with the last two books in the Karla triolgy

What made the experience of listening to The Honourable Schoolboy the most enjoyable?

Michael Jayston usual excellent performance.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I really don't think the plot or the story was as strong as tinker tailor. It is an important in between book in the Karla Triology but I feel the plot got lost somewhere in the middle.

The was a lot of extra in the middle but just didn't seem to gel together like other Le Carre books.

Have you listened to any of Michael Jayston’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Michael Jayston always gives a top class performance, this book was no different.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, Unlike the previous book it just didnt have the same pull.

Any additional comments?

I liked the book but it felt like some vital ingredient was missing. Without ruining the plot for anybody the ending was a complete anti climax.

What did you love best about Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy?

I was given the BBC series of Tinker Tailor for Christmas which also starred Michael Jayston as Guillam. The book added more detail and I found myself listening for hours at atime. I usually just listen to audio books whilst I am travelling to and from work in my car.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy?

The reveal. I already knew who was the traitor was from the Television. It was how it was described. Everybody had suspected that there was a mole and suspected the person but hoped they were somehow wrong.

What does Michael Jayston bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

As mentioned before, he played Guilam in the BBC series. He has a wonderful reading voice and seems to be able to use tone perfectly. Could listen to him all day

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would love too but 14 hours not without losing my job.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I tried to give this book a proper chance.I listened to one chapter at a time(Really couldn't take much morein one sitting). This is not a book to listen to in the car as you will either fall asleep with boredom or crash yelling at the narrator to shut up. It was like something out of the comedy the office. It just wasn't funny. It was just a self prophetising crap. Nothing inspirational or helpful, just another story about how great he did this or that on this occasion or that. Deleted from my library. if I had brought the actual cd would consider giving this as a present to somebody I didn't like.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Anything else. Brian Tracy is pretty good.

Would you be willing to try another one of Chris Baréz-Brown’s performances?

Never

What character would you cut from SHINE?

Chris what ever his name is

Any additional comments?

Dont waste your credit on this and certainly not your money
