EJD does it again

The story follows Ken Swift as he handles transactions as a paid thug. The attacker becomes attacked, the cheated contemplates cheating and a father unites with his daughter. Overall, I enjoyed the story. It appeared as if there were many different sub stories within the main theme (all good) and that created an exciting storyline. There were elements of racism, sexism, class, colorism or shadeism and a host of other prejudices. I have always loved to listen to the musings of EJD, but I felt this book’s racial rants were just too much. Despite not liking all the parts of the book, I understand the book is a reflection of the current racial climate, so these things needed to be said. (I just didn’t want to hear it). I found myself skipping through these parts to get back to the storyline.
Oh, and let me tell you about that Dion Graham. That man is EVERYTHING, loved his performance.
P.S, I am patiently waiting on the next Gideon book lol

Couldn’t read it

Subject matter was too dark for me. I usually like this author. I have always found his/her books just the right amount of dark but i do not enjoy abuse of others, so I’ll pass on this one

Fun and Exciting

This is my first time reading from this author, My first observation of the book is that it was a bit gimmicky. Accidentally marring your boss, ending up in bed with him, and not remembering it. But then I got hooked in the storyline. It was fun and exciting The book had me laughing out loud literally, tears rolling down my face. It’s 11pm, I can’t stop laughing and I know I will wake my husband.

Perfectly lovely and perfectly boring

The book was just ok. But overall I thought the story was boring as hell. You can just imagine how all romance stories go. Boy meets girl, She plays hard to get. There is some (minor, nonsense) turmoil, then she takes him back. The end

Is blood thicker than water?

This is an exciting story of a girl who has been living on the street for her whole life (at least as long as she can remember) who must now accept a tale of her true origin, from a group of people she barely knows. As she learns who is trustworthy and who should be feared, the story leaves readers to wonder, is blood thicker than water. I liked the story development. The narrator was good with the male voices but made the female lead sound extremely young and pitchy.

In love with a douchebag

I enjoyed this story. The narrators were perfect. Muffy Newtown reminded me of Erin Mallon with her voice and cadence. As for the Characters is the story, its amazing how two people who run in different circles can find love and comfort in each other.

One of the better books

This book was so so so good. It really is three books wrapped up in one. I enjoyed the development of the love story and the plot twist towards the end. The middle was a bit unbelievable but still very enjoyable. I hope to read more from this author in the future.

Promising New Series?

I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem. Paulina Woods is a new author to me. I was instantly captivated by the twist on this fairy tale. Beauty is looking for a home for herself and her motley crew. She encounters a variety of obstacles that would dissuade the average person. I think this book may be the beginning to an exciting and captivating series. I look forward to finding out where are the two missing friends are and why have they not yet returned.

No Chapter Skipping

Swoon worthy. This book is reminiscent of Jana Aston’s wrong series; fun light and sweet. No BDSM beat downs here. No alpha male in a position of power belittling or humiliating the female only to finally come to his senses in the end and proclaim his love. (Rolling my eyes). This book is sweet, respectfully, and quite enduring. No, it’s not boring. (I’ve been known to skip chapters in lue of a literature coma. I did not skip any chapters
