Historia
This story is told in the words of a tragic figure in American history - a hook-nosed, hollow-cheeked old Sauk warrior who lived under four flags while the Mississippi Valley was being wrested from his people. The author is Black Hawk himself - once pursued by an army whose members included Captain Abraham Lincoln and Lieutenant Jefferson Davis. Perhaps no Indian ever saw so much of American expansion or fought harder to prevent that expansion from driving his people to exile and death.

You will love the courageous Black Hawk
Revisado: 03-26-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes, I could know what happened to American Indians when whites came to America.
What three words best describe Brett Barry’s voice?
His voice is young. If I hear Hawk's real voice, the story has more impact.
Was The Autobiography of Black Hawk worth the listening time?
Yes
Any additional comments?
I am sorry about the native americans. They were taken their lands. Their warriors, friends and families were killed. They had to leave the tombs where their ancestors' bones were burried. The cornfields they had cultivated were taken by the whites. Before whites came they lived peacefully. They were lovable people. But this is the history. On that fact stands present America.

Historia
During a trip to Europe, wealthy American businessman Christopher Newman proposes marriage to the scintillating and beautiful aristocrat Claire de Cintré. To his dismay, he comes up against the machinations of her impoverished but proud family, who find Newman to be a vulgar example of the American privileged class. Brilliantly combining elements of comedy, tragedy, romance, and melodrama, this tale of thwarted desire vividly contrasts nineteenth-century American and European manners.

Contrast of French and American
Revisado: 03-15-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
The first part was boring, no excitment, but latter part was exciting as it comes to climax.
What three words best describe Robin Lawson’s performance?
Slowly comes to the climax
Was The American worth the listening time?
The story developed in the latter part. The contrast of French personality and American personality is worth noticing.
Any additional comments?
I didn't see the movie, but I think movie is more enjoyable than book.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Impressive, encouraging, heart warming
Revisado: 01-08-13
Where does Listening Is an Act of Love rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's better to hear the stories directly from the persons themselves than the narrator. They express their real emmotion, love, anger, sadness...
What was one of the most memorable moments of Listening Is an Act of Love?
There were many memorable moments; William Jacobson took care of his wife who had Alzheimer. He didn't feel burden because he loved her. Mary Luis gave up her son for adoption. She told her agoney to give up her son. Joice Bartler, mother of four, worked hard in the shipyard to support her kids. They are all very strong in the difficult circumstances.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
It's all love.

Historia
In this book, we travel inside Emily's and Paul's brains as they attempt to sort the vast quantities of information they're presented with, figure out how to prioritize it, organize it, and act on it. Fortunately for Emily and Paul, they're in good hands: David Rock knows how the brain works - and more specifically, how it works in a work setting. Rock shows how it's possible for Emily and Paul, and thus the listener, not only to survive in today's overwhelming work environment but succeed in it - and still feel energized and accomplished at the end of the day.

Good use of brain improves your performance
Revisado: 01-07-13
What did you like best about Your Brain at Work? What did you like least?
The brain is an amazing organ, but how brain functions is explained technically, not in easy language.
What was most disappointing about David Rock’s story?
Too much special study about brain. I wish he explained it easily for layman.
What three words best describe Bob Walter’s voice?
calm, monotonous, lack of enthusiasm
Did Your Brain at Work inspire you to do anything?
I will work my brain in applying what is suggested in the book.
Any additional comments?
I understood how brain functions, but it's too technical. I couldn't understand well. I want to read it again when I had a good comand of English.

Keep you suspended till end
Revisado: 12-12-12
Would you listen to The Devotion of Suspect X again? Why?
No, I already knew the story and the ending
What other book might you compare The Devotion of Suspect X to and why?
It kept me suspended till end. Some suspense stories unravel the mysteries little by little, but in this story mysteries were not solved along the way, and the climax comes at the end. That's the interesting part of this book.
Which character – as performed by David Pittu – was your favorite?
All were performed well. Kusanagi was a powerful, confident detective. Ishigami was somewhat mysterious. Yasuko was quiet, soft and somewhat docile person. Yukawa was a logical man, young and gentle. That was my impression of the characters.
Who was the most memorable character of The Devotion of Suspect X and why?
Ishigami acted well as a hero, but I like Yukawa's logics, assumption and detection. He was always cool.
Any additional comments?
I am Japanese. I lived in Tokyo, so I know the scene very well. Every scene depicted I could see in my mind as if I were there.
