I'm not going to add anything new based on other reviews, but the performance was incredible and the story even better

I stopped listening after 90 minutes. The voice and tone of the audio was lack-luster, but the real issue was the content. Felt like the book was summarizing Pinkerton's already published work with no new information. I recently read The Demon of Unrest. It provided an account of Pinkerton's work for Lincoln and provided a very different account of Pinkerton's work -- that Pinkerton possibly made up some of information. I trust Erik Larson's research more than I do this book, but it was disappointing that this book never even brough up the subject or provided more context.

So if you're looking for a book report of Pinkerton, this fits the bill. But if you want something insightful about the history of Pinkerton then Skip It.
