Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Spectacular!
Revisado: 03-16-23
What a wonderful book to read for Women’s History Month!!! I loved loved loved it! Sad, inspiring, frustrating, funny, just an all-around outstanding read. I started listening today around Chapter 3 or 4 (I started last week) and finished the whole thing. I look forward to reading it again someday!

Historia
Freed Black women organizing for protection in the Reconstruction-era South. Jewish immigrant garment workers braving deadly conditions for a sliver of independence. Asian American fieldworkers rejecting government-sanctioned indentured servitude across the Pacific. Incarcerated workers advocating for basic human rights and fair wages. The queer Black labor leader who helped orchestrate America’s civil rights movement. These are only some of the heroes who propelled American labor’s relentless push for fairness and equal protection under the law.

History that had me on the Edge of my Seat!
Revisado: 02-13-23
Outstanding storytelling from both the author and narrators “Fight Like Hell” had me on the edge of my seat with some of what should be the most important history among the working public in the United States.

Historia
Author of the National Book Award-winning All the Pretty Horses, Cormac McCarthy is one of the most provocative American stylists to emerge in the last century. The striking novel Blood Meridian offers an unflinching narrative of the brutality that accompanied the push west on the 1850s Texas frontier.

Excellent Audiobook - Tough to Follow
Revisado: 11-28-21
This was a genuinely excellent performance/narration of an audiobook, however, the story itself is very hard to follow.
