I lost my review, not typing 4 paragraphs again
Revisado: 03-13-25
Good book, nice (rare) for a single book to have a beginning, middle and end. No 17 book series? Excellent.
Narration, you know what? It was good. I could nit pick, male vs female differential. I hope the narrator continues, I’d like to hear more of her work. (REM: follow)
Story-very cool two timelines merge, long dead male voice comes alive.
So the review that I accidentally deleted isn’t worth rehashing. Bottom line is once you get out of the self imposed Susan drama, the story comes alive and is 100% excellent. Except the FBI guy, he made a grand exit but it was way late.

Amazing story. I tried this as a break from sci fi and it was a great listen. I’ll keep it and listen again. Has a sad ending for Barb though.

Implausible believability
Revisado: 04-27-22
Time travel with an interesting twist, the novel is a good story. I've listened to it a few times and can't really complain about any aspect of it. I do wish the ending was longer with more details. I don't want to add a spoiler but the ending is a large part of the story but is to short.

Historia
A revolution brewing for generations has begun in fire. It will end in blood. The Free Navy - a violent group of Belters in black-market military ships - has crippled the Earth and begun a campaign of piracy and violence among the outer planets. The colony ships heading for the thousand new worlds on the far side of the alien ring gates are easy prey, and no single navy remains strong enough to protect them. James Holden and his crew know the strengths and weaknesses of this new force better than anyone.

Boring Narration
Revisado: 12-20-19
The narrator sounds more like he's reading a book than narrating a book. At times I became lost as to the active character.
The story is ok, or pretty good. But zombies and infectious vomit was kinda meh.
I started book 2 and it's also worth a listen. But I can only tolerate hearing about Holden's in struggle about 0 more times.

Tedious listening
Revisado: 09-24-19
Every action scene is framed by inner drama that detracts from what would have been something exciting to listen to. Ok, but it gets repetitive as the inner turmoil drama doesn't even change. This makes the book tedious and boring to listen to.
The narrator should stick to children's books.
The story was an excellent premise, the telling was pretty flat but with so much material to work with it should have been outstanding.
I listened to much of it for white noise sleep background.
