Historia
The youngest of her parents’ combined 21 children, Sarah Frey grew up on a struggling farm in southern Illinois, often having to grow, catch, or hunt her own dinner alongside her brothers. She spent much of her early childhood dreaming of running away to the big city - or really anywhere with central heating. At 15, she moved out of her family home and started her own fresh produce delivery business with nothing more than an old pickup truck. Two years later, when the family farm faced inevitable foreclosure, Frey gave up on her dreams of escape and took over the farm.

a great American story
Revisado: 01-08-23
I love that she is trying to help others and provide healthy food. I would have been thrilled if she took on more regenerative practices. a book on the life of the great Georgia farm Will Harris would be great.

Historia
Not long ago, J. Matthew Sleeth had a fantastic life and a great job as chief of the medical staff at a large hospital. He was living the American dream - until he saw an increasing number of his patients suffering from cancer, asthma, and other chronic diseases. He began to suspect that the Earth and its inhabitants were in deep trouble. Turning to Jesus for guidance, Sleeth discovered how the scriptural lessons of personal responsibility, simplicity, and stewardship could be applied to modern life. The Sleeths have since sold their big home and given away more than half of what they once owned.

Makes you think but...
Revisado: 10-03-20
He makes you think about how we affect the world and our environment. But he is too focused on the environment and seems to forget about humans. I disagree with his positive opinion on the food pyramid, microwaves, and vaccines. And his Hitler and Churchill discuss is very strange. The book is dated. I would recommend Joel Salatin's "Pigness of Pigs" for Christians.

Historia
Joel Salatin is perhaps the nation's best known farmer, whose environmentally friendly, sustainable Polyface Farms has been featured in Food, Inc. and Time magazine. Now, in his first audiobook written for a faith audience, Salatin offers a deeply personal argument for earth stewardship and calls for fellow Christians to join him in looking to the Bible for a foodscape in line with spiritual truth.
