Historia
From the day that old Nana Reja found a baby abandoned under a bridge, the life of a small Mexican town forever changed. Disfigured and covered in a blanket of bees, little Simonopio is for some locals the stuff of superstition, a child kissed by the devil. But he is welcomed by landowners Francisco and Beatriz Morales, who adopt him and care for him. As he grows up, Simonopio becomes a cause for wonder to the Morales family, because when the uncannily gifted child closes his eyes, he can see what no one else can - visions of all that’s yet to come, both beautiful and dangerous.

Revisado: 12-08-24
Well done, one of those books I couldn’t put down. A little bit of history, a little of fantasy - taking place in Mexico in the 20th century.

Not much suspense.
Revisado: 10-03-24
I thought the story was drawn out and not very suspenseful. At the beginning the person I suspected turns out to be the person who did the crime so there was no surprise for me at the end the narration was just mediocre.

Historia
Last night, we celebrated our anniversary. Over candlelight, we talked about the children, our work, and I was so happy, and felt so loved. But the next morning, when I check my phone, there is a message. From a friend. And a string of photos appear of my husband, Will, with another woman: walking along the street holding hands. Going into fancy hotels. Standing at a window, his arms around her, her head on his shoulder…

Gripping thriller? Not! Boring wanna be
Revisado: 08-24-24
I forced myself to get more than 3/4 through but this story dragged on and on. A plane crashes with some mysterious cargo ( spoiler … maybe antique jewelry) sprinkled with a mildly flirtatious relationship between 2 characters. There isn’t even any Alaskan lessons to keep one’s interest.. I just can’t get myself to listen to it another minute. Wish I could have returned it.

Really enjoyed this book once I figured out all the characters
Revisado: 03-12-24
I almost gave up on this book after the third chapter. There must be 20 different characters involved. Once I found a list of characters using Google, I went back and started the book again. It’s worth the effort. I enjoyed the story and the performance. I recommend having patience..
