Historia
Jack and I, we did everything backward. The day he lured me into his office - which was also the first day we met - he proposed. You'd think a guy who looked like him - a bit cold maybe, but still striking and very unattainable - would only ask the love of his life to marry him, right? You'd think he must be madly in love.

Could've been told in half the pages
Revisado: 04-09-25
I found this book to be quite predictable. Guy rescues girl with fake marriage, then marriage gets all too real. This is not a new trope, but it's been done better. I have no complaints about the narrators, but the story...omg, there were times when I believed I would just stop listening. Some authors can say a lot with a little, but this author in this book said a whole lot of nothing over at least 2 hours at the end of this book. The book started out well enough, but it dragged and dragged and dragged. They couldn't simply steal glances across the table, it would take two chapters of glances, accidental touches, shoulder touches, etc. and take chapters from both vantage points. It was interminable at points. I didn't dislike the story, but I wished it had been half as long for what it actually involved.

Historia
First published in 1843, Charles Dicken's classic morality tale transformed the manner in which the Victorians, and generations to come, would celebrate Christmas. Miserly Ebenezer Scrooge's visitation by three spirits to confront his own past, present, and future in order to learn the true meaning of the holiday season has become one of the most beloved stories in literature.

I loved the narration of this timeless story! The narrator has many unique voices and tones that makes this an easy listen. Highly recommend.

Historia
No job, no money, no love - and to make things worse, 27-year-old Charlie has no choice but to leave New York City and move in with his mom in his isolated and conservative hometown of Sunset Springs. Home isn’t a comfortable place for Charlie. One of very few Black residents and the only trans person around town that he knows of, this will be Charlie’s first time back in Sunset Springs since he transitioned. He expects confusion and maybe even hostility. He definitely does not expect Jackson Ford.

In Boyfriend Material, Luc and Oliver met, pretended to fall in love, fell in love for real, dealt with heartbreak and disappointment and family and friends...and somehow figured out a way to make it work. Now it seems like everyone around them is getting married, and Luc's feeling the social pressure to propose. But it'll take more than four weddings, a funeral, and a bowl full of special curry to get these two from "I don't know what I'm doing" to "I do". Good thing Oliver is such perfect Husband Material.

What the what?
Revisado: 08-13-22
The first book made me laugh aloud. It was sad at times, funny at others, but it built up something wonderful. This one caused me frustration and irritation to the last word. That's 12+ hours of my life I can never get back. It's a shame. I could've spent that time doing something wonderful...not...this.

Not worth the time
Revisado: 06-16-22
At the halfway mark, I realized this was a seriously dumb story. A kissing contest? So uninspiring. I saw the ending in my mind's eye and I KNEW nothing interesting was going to happen. The female MC was a cop trying to solve a crime, which she apparently did without actually doing anything. I thought maybe when they were in bed and she had a brain awakening about the crime that "maybe this is where it gets interesting." But..nope. You don't even really get to know about it. Such a waste of time. There is nothing interesting here. This has never been my opinion of this author's books before.

Historia
Luc O'Donnell is tangentially - and reluctantly - famous. His rock-star parents split when he was young, and the father he's never met spent the next 20 years cruising in and out of rehab. Now that his dad's making a comeback, Luc's back in the public eye, and one compromising photo is enough to ruin everything. To clean up his image, Luc has to find a nice normal relationship...and Oliver Blackwood is as nice and normal as they come. He's a barrister, an ethical vegetarian, and someone who has never inspired a moment of scandal in his life. He’s perfect boyfriend material.

A little sluggish
Revisado: 01-07-21
LA Casey novels are generally heavy - lots of angst, full of the heaviest drama of life - but usually quite interesting. This book was interesting but is it possible for there to be too much description? Apparently, yes. This is the downside of listening as opposed to reading; you're forced to listen for 5 minutes about why Noah wanted to go out, with such riveting details as picking up her phone, putting on her coat, stepping into the hall, breathing (seriously?!) and such. some things don't need describing in such minutia and this book had entirely too much minutia. The story was genuinely interesting and the narration was excellent so I don't regret the listen. in the end, this would've been better reading than listening because sometimes ut'a more enjoyable to skim or skip the dull parts.

13-yr old cops
Revisado: 10-01-20
I listened to 3 books in this series. Grown me. Blushing, constantly blushing. Flipping each other off, constantly. Other characters...blushing and flipping birds. SERIOUSLY - I JUST SUMMARIZED THE WHOLE SERIES. It was a waste of my time. These 2 perpetual 13 year olds will never figure out life. Just skip it. You wait too long for anything to happen only to realize nothing will ever happen.

OMG this book was terrible. The high school bully finds his prey in college and continues his abuse. But without prerequisite change in behavior the girl swoons at his errant kisses and masturbates in front if him to show she 'won'...NO. JUST NO. It was the worst kind of awful.
