Historia
The sky above the port was the colour of television, tuned to a dead channel. William Gibson revolutionised science fiction in his 1984 debut Neuromancer. The writer who gave us the matrix and coined the term 'cyberspace' produced a first novel that won the Hugo, Nebula and Philip K. Dick Awards, and lit the fuse on the cyberpunk movement.

Great Story, a bit hard to follow at times.
Revisado: 06-29-24
by the time I got to the end I didn't know if I should have been happy or depressed. But I definitely loved the book. I look forward to listening to the Jonathan Davis narrated sequels. I loved the characters here, particularly Molly. the way the book is written is a bit hard to follow, with good reason. Gibson is describing things far ahead of his time and it shows. I would skip backward 15sec pretty frequently to get a better understanding. but I really enjoyed my time with the book. I look forward to the next one.

Historia
They are Hazel, James, Aubrey, and Colette. A classical pianist from London, a British would-be architect turned soldier, a Harlem-born ragtime genius in the US Army, and a Belgian orphan with a gorgeous voice and a devastating past. Their story, as told by goddess Aphrodite, who must spin the tale or face judgment on Mount Olympus, is filled with hope and heartbreak, prejudice and passion, and reveals that, though war is a formidable force, it's no match for the transcendent power of love.

LOVED EVERY SECOND!
Revisado: 02-29-24
This book grabbed me at the very start and didn't let go. not only is it a great story told from 3 perspectives but the narration! Area and Aphrodite especially. they're voices just lend themselves perfectly to the characters they follow. I've listened to this twice and recommended it to anyone who wants start with audible.

The city of the gods. Elantris once stood as the symbol of all that is beautiful. A sprawling metropolis of unrivaled grandeur, it was a symbol of power and strength, built to be as imposing as it was magnificent. But Elantris fell...10 years ago.

WOW... WOW WHAT A RIDE THIS STORY WAS
Revisado: 04-05-23
i want to preface by saying i started The Cosmere with Mistborn Book 1 and then went back and read White Sands then Elantris and WOW. Elantris was so insanely good. i enjoyed it more than The Final Empire. Last 2 hours i was HOOKED. There's a magic system that is very visual but the description does such a great job that i never felt i was missing any details. The story is just breathtaking
The voice acting is equally incredible and yes the background music and sound effects can't get loud on occasion, but it happens very rarely and adjusting your devices audio settings to "voice mode" makes it almost non existent.
i highly recommend this book and i look forward to learning more about these characters.

Great story held back an annoying narrator
Revisado: 06-25-22
This is MJ Kuhn's debut novel and it's a really fantastic one. i plan will on following her career closely and i think I'll end up owning everything she puts out. really interesting world building and character development carry a solid plot throughout. and the "enemies to lovers" tease is just 🤌.
That being said, the narrator held back the audible version from greatness. it's pretty noticable early on that the same audio clip is used everytime she says "Riya" and soon you'll notice the same for "Thamorr". i think she recorded the entire story mispronouncing those 2 words and when it was noticed it was too late, so they simply recorded her saying the ONCE correctly, then proceeded to copy and paste it at every opportunity. and it shows. it really took me out of the story, so much so that i ended up buying a print version and reading it instead.
if that bothers you, buy the text and read it. the story is too good to pass up. if it doesn't, give this a listen. i HIGHLY recommend it.

Holy hell!! what a fantastic Sci-fi story.
Revisado: 09-24-21
I was recommended this book by someone who said "if you enjoyed Mass Effect you'll like this." and they were absolutely right. the futuristic SciFi setting, the dual perspectives, the combat and the politics. it all comes together so beautifully. seriously, if you're a fan of sci-fi video games, movies etc don't miss out on this book. the fact that it's the authors DEBUT novel is insane. i look forward to book 2 and anything else she puts out.

Historia
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

Revisado: 07-31-19
This entry into the Kenzie and Gennaro series had me hooked on every word. it's really the best in the series yet. just when I thought I figured out the mystery, it turns everything on its head and had me back at square one. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Historia
Alex is dead. Dead and apparently with a one-way ticket to a place that only the worst of the worst go. All for a simple choice he made about a product his company owned. Damned for all time. Luckily for him, he’s about to be given a chance. Another choice to make. He can instead return to the land of the living, though his soul would belong to another. Except the world he’s being sent to isn’t the same one he came from. It’s not even a similar period in time, but from something long past in history. The dark ages.

When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic, rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Yet despite Ludlow's tranquility, there's an undercurrent of danger that lingers...like the graveyard in the woods near the Creeds' home, where generations of children have buried their beloved pets.

Scared the hell out of me..
Revisado: 10-23-18
Man i didn't expect much when i started this. these days nothing much scares me, i guess its just growing up. But something about Kings storytelling and Hall's slow and deep voice fit together perfectly to put you in an out-of-body sense of mind. Maybe it was that i was very sleepy at the time but it creeped the hell out of me. i really enjoyed this book and i recommend it to everyone.
