Always enjoyable
Revisado: 10-11-23
There’s nothing more enjoyable to me than a hockey based romance, especially one with Teddy Hamilton as a narrator. Sarina Bowen is the absolute best.

Excellent narration. Funny & entertaining story. Definitely above average writing for this type of book. I enjoyed reading this one & the first book in this series.

Historia
Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wisecracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were 18? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.

Outstanding
Revisado: 11-07-22
Thoroughly enjoyed this. I’ve bought all 3 related books. Excellent narration and an interesting sports-based plot. Enjoyed the secondary plot involving one of the MC’s humorous large family. Would be just as happy to read a separate book @ them.

Historia
Cutthroat political consultant Thom Morgan is thriving, working on the governor of California’s presidential campaign. If only he didn’t have to deal with Clay Parker, the infuriatingly smug data analyst who gets under Thom’s skin like it’s his job. In the midst of one of their heated and very public arguments, a journalist snaps a photo, but the image makes it look like they’re kissing. As if that weren’t already worst-nightmare territory, the photo goes viral—and in a bid to secure the liberal vote, the governor asks them to lean into it. Hard.

an audiobook I’ll happily listen to many times
Revisado: 10-23-22
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook, so much so that I listened to it a second time immediately after finishing. I love books like this one that touch on some political & family issues and have some romance that isn’t too over-the-top explicit with spice. The book has an interesting plot that is much better than most of the other books I recently bought that were just repetitive fluff. The narrator has a nice, clear voice and sounds age appropriate (which has been an issue with several of my recent purchases). He is pleasant to listen to at night as you are winding down to go to sleep. I highly recommend this book!

Interesting & fun
Revisado: 10-21-22
Was far better than I expected. I highly recommend it. Excellent narrator. Story had more detailed plot than expected and wasn’t burdened by too much explicit spice, like most similar books these days. This is just the right balance of mystery, suspense & romance. Would love to see a sequel some day.

Historia
In Boyfriend Material, Luc and Oliver met, pretended to fall in love, fell in love for real, dealt with heartbreak and disappointment and family and friends...and somehow figured out a way to make it work. Now it seems like everyone around them is getting married, and Luc's feeling the social pressure to propose. But it'll take more than four weddings, a funeral, and a bowl full of special curry to get these two from "I don't know what I'm doing" to "I do". Good thing Oliver is such perfect Husband Material.

Did Oliver have a lobotomy?
Revisado: 09-29-22
Joe Jameson continues to be the best narrator around, and he really elevates this book. I’m currently listening to one of his long Spellslinger series books to get over the disappointment from this book. On a positive note, some of this book is similar to the first one, a quite funny rom-com, with an extra dollop of angst, that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, the ending for this book is remarkably bad on so many levels. Essentially, Oliver’s behavior is far too out of character compared to the first book for this to be enjoyable. I recently listened to Love, Hate & Clickbait which shares a similar storyline regarding marriage. Even though the couples in both these books make the same decision as to marriage, I found the ending to Clickbait to be vastly better written.
