Historia
1992. All across the United States respectable, upstanding citizens are showing up dead. These deaths could be accidents, and they don’t appear to be connected—until a fatal fall from a high-floor window attracts some unexpected attention. That attention comes from the secretary of defense. All of a sudden he wants an interagency task force to investigate. And he wants Jack Reacher as the army’s representative. If Reacher gets a result, great. If not, he’s a convenient fall guy.

Another Great Book!
Revisado: 10-25-23
Scott Brick is wonderful, as always.
And I always enjoy a Reacher throwback to the 90’s. It’s fun to read a story where fax machines are so important and researching someone’s background can’t be done with a smart phone.
An overall great addition to my Jack Reacher Library!

Historia
A serial murderer known only by a grotesquely apt nickname—Buffalo Bill—is stalking women. He has a purpose, but no one can fathom it, for the bodies are discovered in different states. Clarice Starling, a young trainee at the FBI Academy, is surprised to be summoned by Jack Crawford, chief of the Bureau's Behavioral Science section. Her assignment: to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter—Hannibal the Cannibal—who is kept under close watch in the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane.

Excellent
Revisado: 10-20-23
The book itself is so in depth with Clarice and Hannibal and their inner monologues. As always, it adds so much more than a movie ever could.
I’m not usually a fan of Frank Muller, in other books he’s had a weird lilt in his voice at the end of each sentence.
His narration on this book was very soothing and even, very easy to listen to.
My only criticism is that the main characters, at the least, should have a more distinct voice. Gumb, of course, sounds different than everyone else. But, there’s not enough difference, for instance, between Clarice and Jack to tell one voice from the other.

Historia
After getting canned from the Seattle PD, brilliant, wisecracking Thomas Prescott follows his sister Lacy to Philadelphia, where she swims on the Drexel University team. While Thomas’s slapstick antics mask a keen analytic mind, it’s his nose for trouble that leads him again and again into dicey situations. The ex–homicide detective is not long in Philly before getting caught up in two high-powered criminal cases. Thomas stumbles into a crime scene amid the Occupy Philadelphia protests. Activist Brooke Wexley has been strangled within sight of city hall.

Warning! Do not eat/drive while listening to this book!
Revisado: 05-14-23
I was laughing so hard that I started choking on my granola bar while driving. This book, like the rest of the Thomas Prescott series, is fantastic! I love that the protagonist is fiercely faithful to, and protective of, his little sister. No one comes before her and that’s very endearing. And at the same time, it’s murder mystery with absolute hilarity. Who would have thought that middle-of-the-night grave digging or a fight with an elderly dementia patient in a nursing home could be so flipping funny?
What I also like about this book is that even though it’s a prequel, you can read it before the other books and it doesn’t give anything away. Or you can read it after book four and it’s just as delightful.
The narrator has such a unique voice, and a great storyteller cadence. It really feels like he is just telling you about his life and not at all like he’s reading from the pages of a book.

Not my favorite narration but an interesting plot line
Revisado: 03-06-23
I’ve never written a bad review but this one was hard to get through. The narrator has a very beautiful, sultry voice but every female character sounded the same and every male character sounded just like the female characters but slightly lower. It sounded like she was trying too hard to make her voice deeper. The rich older man sounded no different than the young surfer guy. And none of the character sounded any different from the narration voice. A lot of Koontz’s wit was lost in the monotone of the voice.

Amazing Series!
Revisado: 11-22-22
I just finished this book, the third in the series, and I’m already sad that I’ll finish the rest very soon.
The series is Jackman and Evans but I have never read a dedicated series where the main characters are not always the main story.
The twists and turns of these books are insane but completely plausible and thoroughly integrated. No cheating, no deus ex machina.
I am rarely stumped by an ending and this author has got me three times in a row!
You would think I’d have caught on by now, but my guesses are always wrong. In fact, I tried to guess the opposite of what I initially guessed and I was still wrong in every way.
I usually hate being wrong but this author keeps me on my toes by making me enjoy being wrong for a change!

Revisado: 10-30-22
Everyone complaining about this story needs to take life a little less seriously. Not every book has to be a masterpiece of literature.
This one is concise, well written, and fun to listen to. It was a nice couple of hours entertainment after the long, heavy, emotional books I’ve been listening to.
I enjoyed it.

Historia
Every object has a ghost. There is a small yellow backpack - half unzipped, mouth yawning to the pavement, contents strewn around it (a banana, an exercise book, a pair of scissors) - abandoned on a suburban footpath. Ten feet away, the rubber stamp of tyres, resisting clamped brakes, mount the curb and cut across the path. The tracks come to an end at a crippled stop sign. The street, a tree-lined suburban road dappled in late-afternoon sunlight, is calm. But anyone walking past can feel the ghosts: the prickle on the back of their necks that tells them something happened here.

Un-freaking-believable!
Revisado: 08-30-22
You can guess, but you’ll have to re-evaluate everything you thought you knew and guess again.
Then repeat.
This book is damn good! Emotionally and psychologically it is a bit dark. I didn’t think it was too gory, at all. (but that’s subjective)
If you think the combination of psychotic behavior, children, kidnapping, and torture might upset you and all you want are good plot twists, read Jodi Picoult.

#1 New York Times bestselling master of suspense Harlan Coben delivers his most shocking thriller yet, proving that a well-placed lie can help build a wonderful life—and a secret has the same explosive power to destroy it. The Stranger appears out of nowhere, perhaps in a bar, or a parking lot, or at the grocery store. His identity is unknown. His motives are unclear. His information is undeniable. Then he whispers a few words in your ear and disappears, leaving you picking up the pieces of your shattered world.

I really liked it
Revisado: 05-19-21
Other reviewers have said the ending is predictable or the details were wishy-washy... I don’t think either of those are true. It was an enjoyable read. If you’re searching for the most amazing book ever written or if an enjoyable book with good plot twists is NOT what you’re looking for...then go ahead and skip it. Otherwise I definitely recommend it.

Some people think Hawaii is paradise, but Monk knows that danger, like dirt, lurks everywhere. Look at Helen Gruber, the rich tourist who took a fatal blow from a coconut. The police say it fell from a tree, but Monk suspects otherwise. His assistant Natalie isn't exactly thrilled about Monk's latest investigation. It was bad enough Monk followed her on vacation, and now it looks like the vacation is over.

I like that there is more than one mystery in these books. Some of them are stand alone and some weave back into the main mystery.
It’s weird not to hear Traylor Howard as Natalie, but the narrator does a very good job.
