Historia
Twenty years ago, Jolie Royale was critically wounded during a shooting that left her mother, her aunt, and her aunt's suspected lover dead. The case was ruled a double homicide and suicide and quickly closed, though rumors abounded as to the murderer's real identity . . . Jolie would never forget that day—but she could never recall the killer's face. And now she is coming home to Mississippi for her father's funeral. Her mixed feelings turn into dread when the investigation into the triple murder is reopened—and it becomes clear as day that a killer is still on the loose . . .

Non-consensual sex
Revisado: 09-13-24
The tired old trope of women saying no and then being turned on when they're forced to have sex anyway needs to stop. This story promotes rape culture.
Beyond that the author's grasp of the English language is poor. When someone is a witness to back up someone' else's story they CORROBORATE the story. Twice the author said someone "collaborated" someone's story. That word doesn't mean what you think it does Ms. Barton.
The narrator has an annoying verbal tic where she can't pronounce certain consonants in the middle of words. Didn't is pronounced 'dinnit', cotton is missing the t sound, leaving a glottal stop in the middle of the word, and many more similar examples.
I tend to use this author to fall asleep to at night. This is by far the worst of her's that I've listened to so far.

How Do You Make Yarn?
Revisado: 06-05-24
I've been working my way through back episodes and this one has me ROFL. I make my own yarn. I know a lot of people who do and we're not all little old ladies. It's a lost art in this country. You guys crack me up. Hit me up if you ever need a sweater.

Historia
This week, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a man, who seems to be made for crime, works his way up from petty offenses, to one of the most horrible, bloody murders that a person could commit, by luring a couple to their ultimate demise, for a very small infraction against him. He chops, burns, and gets rid of the bodies, but the evidence is stacked high. Also, a bonus old time family vs family murder showdown!Along the way, we find out that some people may just be born to be bad, that saw blades certainly don't burn at the same temperature as bodies, and that you should never leave your purse, ...
