Historia
>When South African conservationist Lawrence Anthony was asked to accept a herd of "rogue" wild elephants on his Thula Thula game reserve in Zululand, his common sense told him to refuse. But he was the herd's last chance of survival: they would be killed if he wouldn't take them. In order to save their lives, Anthony took them in. In the years that followed he became a part of their family. And as he battled to create a bond with the elephants, he came to realize that they had a great deal to teach him about life, loyalty, and freedom.

Historia
When it comes to health, there is one criminally overlooked element: sleep. Good sleep helps you shed fat for good, stave off disease, stay productive, and improve virtually every function of your mind and body. That's what Shawn Stevenson learned when a degenerative bone disease crushed his dream of becoming a professional athlete. Like many of us, he gave up on his health and his body...until he decided there must be a better way.

Historia
Breakfast of Champions (1973) provides frantic, scattershot satire and a collage of Vonnegut's obsessions. His recurring cast of characters and American landscape was perhaps the most controversial of his canon; it was felt by many at the time to be a disappointing successor to Slaughterhouse-Five, which had made Vonnegut's literary reputation.

Non-sequitur
Revisado: 06-16-24
Disjointed and non-sequitur. There are no answers here. Was on a list of great books. Skip it. There are better books elsewhere. The one interesting part was how the author wrote himself into the story as it’s author. He frees his characters at the end. This review didn’t just ruin the story. Nothing could possibly.

Historia
Set on the French Riviera in the late 1920s, Tender Is the Night is the tragic romance of the young actress Rosemary Hoyt and the stylish American couple Dick and Nicole Diver. A brilliant young psychiatrist at the time of his marriage, Dick is both husband and doctor to Nicole, whose wealth goads him into a lifestyle not his own, and whose growing strength highlights Dick's harrowing demise. A profound study of the romantic concept of character - lyrical, expansive, and hauntingly evocative.

Think about it...
Revisado: 04-29-24
This book is beauty in prose. Good book? It is subtle.
This book is one a reader might want to fall in love with...
At first, the reader won’t. But then think about it... more and more...
I only understood what it was really about toward the end of the book...
And now I want to read it again.
Am I capable of falling in love with it?

Historia
The tale of the Bechtel family dynasty is a classic American business story. It begins with Warren A. "Dad" Bechtel, who led a consortium that constructed the Hoover Dam. From that auspicious start, the family and its eponymous company would go on to build the world, from the construction of airports in Hong Kong and Doha to pipelines and tunnels in Alaska and Europe to mining and energy operations around the globe.

Surprisingly good
Revisado: 07-24-22
It brings together politics, international affairs and just how much big business is involved. Answers questions as to why government seems to act really stupid sometimes and why and what is behind some past news headlines that never made sense.
