Historia
Out on the Yorkshire Moors lives a secret line of people for whom books are food, and who retain all of a book's content after eating it. To them, spy novels are a peppery snack; romance novels are sweet and delicious. Eating a map can help them remember destinations, and children, when they misbehave, are forced to eat dry, musty pages from dictionaries.

LOVED this story!
Revisado: 01-11-23
This book is so different than the books that I normally read. I loved that it really allowed you to make your own decisions about the characters rather than the author telling you what they thought they should be or become. It’s about motherhood and sacrifice and just really finding yourself in a confusing world. If you’re looking for something different, please give this one a chance.
I will say that the narrator has a very distinct accent and at first I was not a fan but as I got into the story, it just really fit and I really enjoyed it.

Worth it
Revisado: 08-18-22
If you’re looking for a good cozy mystery with just a hint of clean romance this is a good story. It has its hiccups where I think the writing is pretty cheesy but I really enjoyed it.

Historia
Stormy “Breeze” Morgan was living the high life until her dreams came crashing down around her and she lost her book contract. With nothing left to do—and no money in her bank account—she’s forced to return to the family business, a diner in Northern Lower Michigan. Stormy never thought she would have to work with her family again, and it’s just as horrific as she expected. Things only get worse when, after a night of drinking with her cousin, a family Ouija board leads to a burst of magic and Stormy wakes floating over her bed the next morning.

Not a bad read
Revisado: 04-20-22
Think of the MTV show Awkward and set it about 8ish years after high school. That’s exactly what the dialogue of this book makes me think of when I listened to it. It took me a while to get into it but I’m not hating it completely. From the description, I was hoping for more magic and witchcraft to be a part of the story but it took a while for that to come to fruition. Again, overall not bad. A good light read for vacation or beach days

Historia
Rita and Rosie Stevens are only nine and five years old when their widowed mother marries a violent bully called Jimmy Randall and has a baby boy by him. Under pressure from her new husband, she is persuaded to send the girls to an orphanage, not knowing that the papers she has signed will entitle them to do what they like with the children. And it is not long before the powers that be decide to send a consignment of orphans to their sister institution in Australia. Among them - without their family's consent or knowledge - are Rita and Rosie.

Absolutely brilliant!
Revisado: 04-18-22
This story had me in all sorts of emotional turmoil practically throughout! Absolutely one that I will recommend to fellow readers. I may end up listening again before long. The characters are wonderful and I would love, love, LOVE to see this adapted as a playwright or a film. The narrator was equally as wonderful and I will definitely be looking for more books by this author.
