Repairing for the loss of your pet
Revisado: 04-29-24
I was in tears constantly. I didn’t know who to turn to. I was counting the months, the weeks, the days, and yes, even the hours of when my Micah , my German shorthaired pointer died. He lived a good life, and I know that I was a great mother to him. I had to euthanize him on February 7, 2024. He was very sick, had cancer of the liver. When they told me about this, he was still eating, and looked like he was fine. The veterinarian told me it was just a matter of days/weeks until this bubble burst inside of him and he would be in horrible agony when it did. There was no afterwards about it. I automatically told the veterinarian yes we need to euthanize him through my tears. We did so the next day. I do not feel guilty about this, because when I had another dog years ago, I kept him alive for me, not the dog. His name was Zachary. I really feel like the last nine weeks of Zachary‘s life. We’re not quality weeks. I actually think when I look back that he was in pain. I promised myself I would never do that again. That one of my animals started to lose their quality of life, I wouldn’t keep them alive for myself. I’ve done so ever since then, and that’s been 20 years ago. As far as Micah is concerned. I don’t think I’ll ever get another dog. I became disabled when I got him from an accident, and there he was every single day, every minute for me. I know they say you don’t compare when you get another dog, however, I know I would, compare any animal to him again. I don’t know when this grieving process will be over, it’s been three months now, and is still as raw as the day he died. I guess I will end this with the thought of knowing that at least the grieving process has no timeline. Good luck to everyone who is reading this. You can never really prepare.

Historia
On a flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning and mysterious Lily Kintner. Sharing one too many martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing intimate details about themselves. Ted talks about his marriage that’s going stale and his wife, Miranda, who he’s sure is cheating on him. Ted and his wife were a mismatch from the start - he the rich businessman, she the artistic free spirit - a contrast that once inflamed their passion but has now become a cliché. But their game turns a little darker when Ted jokes that he could kill Miranda....

The book was excellent. Kept me on the edge of my seat For any of you who love psychological thrillers, this book is for you.. I found the main character amusing and devious. However, oddly understanding why she did what she did. There weren’t any big surprises in the book until the end, when it left my jaw open with shock and also a grin on my face. The narration was excellent. I highly recommend this book!

Historia
This is a captivating historical mystery, infused with romance, that links the lives of three women across a century - two deep in the past, one in the present - to the doomed passenger liner, RMS Lusitania.... Her finances are in dire straits, and best-selling author Sarah Blake is struggling to find a big idea for her next book. Desperate, she breaks the one promise she made to her mother and opens an old chest that belonged to her great-grandfather, who died when the RMS Lusitania was sunk by a German U-boat in 1915. What she discovers there could change history.

As soon as I saw that this book was out, I GRABBED IT! I was so impressed by their last book, THE FORGOTTEN ROOM, that I just couldn't resist. Sometimes, as you probably have noticed yourselves that after an author/authors write a wonderful book that stays with you, it's hard to follow up with another one. Well this team did! What I really love about their writing is how they incorporate their characters from the past and present. They did a wonderful job giving each character their own personalities, to the point where you are at times rooting for each one! Twists and turns all throughout the book. Some serious ones near the end. Without giving anything away, TESS was my favorite! I listened to this in one day. Couldn't put it down. We all knew the ending to this horrible tragedy, however getting to know the passengers is a whole different ball game. Well besides letting you know this is a winner, and I really, really hope to continue their writing with each other, I have "One more thing to say, and Sara, the author will appreciate this, "GREAT BOOK JACKET."

Let me just say that not only did this book grab my attention from the beginning with the title, but as soon as I started listening to the narrator Hillary Huber I was hooked! She narrated this book so well, with her witty remarks from the author's pen, she made the book come alive in its own right. Such a soothing but hilarious voice, it makes you realize that anyone who has been through a break up that we're all sisters or brothers under the skin!

Ghost in the Wind, (Book 7)
Revisado: 07-06-18
I gave this four stars because at times it became monotonous. However, it did give me food for thought. Allison meets her hero Vance McTiernan, who is very dead (naturally,) and quickly becomes disillusioned with him because he's not the person she has put on a pedestal all these years. Made me think about who is my hero and would I like to meet have him or her. I don't think so. We're all human and I don't think I'd like to be disappointed, after all, we need something to dream about...

Dot Hutchinson does it again! Another excellent read that integrates with her last two. Agent Mercedes Ramirez is haunted by her past when children covered in blood clutching a teddy bear unhurt on her doorstep. However, their abusive parents are literally slaughtered to death by an angel the children say. Ramerize is determined to find out who this so called angel is BEFORE it's too late! EXCELLENT READ! Add it to your favorites. Narration is great. The narrator gives great depth to Mercedes character.

Historia
Just when she thought she'd seen everything... Detective Lieutenant Anita McElone is one of Harbor Haven's finest. She's also a hard-boiled ghost skeptic. So when she shows up on the doorstep of Alison Kerby's Haunted Guesthouse to ask for supernatural help in solving the murder of her former partner, it's hard to tell which woman is more flabbergasted. But McElone is dead serious, so Alison promises to help in any way she can - even asking her resident ghosts, Paul and Maxie, for help with the case.

I gave this a four star rating only because everyone can't always have a five star book. What I mean is, that I have read and listened to all of her books up until now and even though there is always a lot of extraneous information, it's a light easy read when you need a break from your regular readings. However, if I ever hear the name OLIVER, I will scream! Allison is asked by her best friends to watch their baby because they needed to go on vacation. OLIVER is left with her and we hear EVERY detail of his movements throughout the book. Thus taking away from the storyline at hand. The narrator is always great as far as I'm concerned. She has given the characters their own personality by her speaking like each of them. Good going Amanda! Let's get back on track with the detective work and your friends Paul and Maxie!

Alison Kerby’s guesthouse is haunted all year round. Surviving the dead of winter, though? That’s a spooky proposition. Even with a blizzard bearing down on New Jersey, Alison can count on at least two guests—Paul and Maxie, the stubborn ghosts who share her shore town inn.

Alison is called upon by a somewhat strange ghost, who was electrocuted in the bathtub by a radio, and he is determined to find his killer through her whether she likes it or not! To make matters worse, she finds out her mother is having a secret relationship, "with her dead father." Loved the ending!
