Historia
Bernard Cornwell, the New York Times best-selling "reigning king of historical fiction" (USA Today), tackles his most thrilling, rich, and enthralling subject yet - the heroic tale of Agincourt. The epic battle immortalized by William Shakespeare in his classic Henry V is the background for this breathtaking tale of heroism, love, devotion, and duty from the legendary author of the Richard Sharpe novels and the Saxon Tales.

Another Great Story by Cornwell
Revisado: 03-10-09
I have listened or read almost every book written by Bernard Cornwell and this one is as good as it gets. At first I was taken back by the pronounced English accent of the reader but it prove to really add to the story and was clearly understood. I recommend this book.

Historia
This New York Times best seller is a thrilling account of one of the most pivotal moments in United States history. Six months after the Declaration of Independence, America was nearly defeated. Then on Christmas night, George Washington led his men across the Delaware River to destroy the Hessians at Trenton. A week later Americans held off a counterattack, and in a brilliant tactical move, Washington crept behind the British army to win another victory. The momentum had reversed.

Washington's Crossing a Great Story
Revisado: 06-07-08
I thought this book was great. One of the best I've listened to - period. If you like history this book will provide you with lots of interesting details about George Washington and the people surrounding him. Not only did I learn a lot about this period in American history, it is very entertaining. Can't go wrong with this one.

The Rosetta Key
Revisado: 05-19-08
I did not like this book at all. The dialog was childish and trite. I see this book as a boring knock-off of Raiders of the Lost Ark. The narrator has a child-like tone which contributes to the childish dialog. The book continually references past many past events which probably indicates that this is one of a series. I ploded through to the end wishing for some improvement but finding none.

Historia
One evening in 1951, an itinerant storyteller arrives unannounced at a house in the Irish countryside. In exchange for a bed and a warm meal, he invites his hosts and their neighbors to join him by the wintry fireside and begins to tell formative stories of Ireland's history. Ronan, a nine-year-old boy, grows so entranced by the storytelling that, when the old man leaves abruptly under mysterious circumstances, the boy devotes himself to finding him again.

Wonderful Stories
Revisado: 03-22-05
I really enjoyed this book. It's not what I usually read but it is certainly one of the most memorable. This book is filled with delightful stories about the history of Ireland and its people. I'm not Irish in any way, but I found this to be very enjoyable. I recommend this book for a great escape. The ony thing I regret is there are so many "S"'s in the English language.

It is July 10, 1863, and Baltimore is in the hands of the Army of Northern Virginia under the command of Robert E. Lee. Shattered remnants of the Army of the Potomac have fallen back into Washington, digging in, preparing to make a desperate stand. Six days earlier, General Ulysses S. Grant and his army of 60,000 had taken Vicksburg. The last telegram out of Washington before the rebels cut the line changed all that.

I really liked this book. Although fiction, it weaves an interesting tale that rings of actual history. The narrator adds a lot to this book with interesting inflection and accents. I can't wait for the next one.

Historia
Bill Bryson has been an enormously popular author both for his travel books and for his books on the English language. Now, this beloved comic genius turns his attention to science. Although he doesn't know anything about the subject (at first), he is eager to learn, and takes information that he gets from the world's leading experts and explains it to us in a way that makes it exciting and relevant.

Revisado: 05-03-04
This was a really good listen. The narrator had some difficulty with pronunciation but it was a very good book to listen to. Very entertaining and sometimes even humorous. It is a history of the formation of the universe, earth and the history of modern science told in a very entertaining manner. I certainly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys science and history.

Worst Book - EVER!
Revisado: 12-11-03
I could not get past the first half of the first section of this book. It is full of gross and graphic sex including homosexual sex and it doesn't add to the story at all. The story line, though original in thought, makes little sense and is hard to follow. I can't believe someone was actually paid to produce this trash. I am sorry I wasted a book credit on this one. The only reason I give it one star is because that's the lowest rating I can give.

I have not read a book by Stephen King for years because I believed the quality of his writting was really getting poor. This book is the best he has written since THE STAND. This book was entertaining and kept my attention throughout.

Historia
The boxes arrive mysteriously, one by one, at Channing Manheim’s fortified compound. The threat implicit in their bizarre, disturbing contents seems to escalate with each new delivery. Manheim’s security chief, ex-cop Ethan Truman, is used to looking beneath the surface of things. But until he entered the orbit of a Hollywood icon, he had no idea just how slippery reality could be. Now this good man is all that stands in the way of an insidious killer—and forces that eclipse the most fevered fantasies of a city where dreams and nightmares are the stuff of daily life.

Very Entertaining
Revisado: 09-25-03
I liked this book a lot. Koontz is elequent in his descriptions of places and things to the point of being too verbose and I hope his next book is not so wordy. It does distract from the story but not to the point of ruining the suspence. I couldn't stop walking around with the ear plugs for days.
