Light always shines
Revisado: 05-03-15
The start was a little bit confusing for me, it took me a little while to grasp what was going on with whom and to keep it straight. (Please keep in mind that I get easily confused so I can't be sure whether this was my fault or not) Once I had my grasp on the story I was quickly spellbound. I became obsessed with knowing everything as soon as possible. When I noticed that time was running down and I would soon be finished the book I was very disappointed because I wanted to keep experiencing these characters and the story. A relief of sorts came to me when I found out there is a book that follows this one and finishes out the current tale (All Clear is the title of that book) I've bought and downloaded 'All Clear' but have not yet begun it as I wanted to get this done right away. I will be listening as soon as I finish here as I just have to know what is going to happen to the historians.
The ending was a mystery. There are still some details that are hidden in the fog in regards to the ending. Perhaps that was to lead us to the next book.
The narration was fairly good overall. There were many moments where I felt the narrator was 'shouting' to portray excitement and other high emotions, which for me really detracted from the enjoyment of the book. Less 'shouting' in the future please.
The contempts in this book are more amazing than usual. Their courage, bravery, and others just simply floored me. This truly is a book of everyday heroes. You can't hide the light of these kind of people, their light will shine brighter than the sun no matter how much someone or something tries to destroy them. Thus my headline...

Love the Prince!
Revisado: 05-03-15
This one was great! The beginning went a bit slow for me as it started with what has been going on with the various characters and there were a few of those that seems a bit boring to me. Lestat is in particularly fine form here. My experience of this book was what I've come to expect from Lestat and much more. It was intense, suspenseful and it left me wanting more. Near the end I started fearing that Anne Rice was trying to let us know that this would be the last book, but it really can't be! I most definitely hope that there will be many more books following this one.
I will be listening to this book again. It was so good! I definitely recommend this book especially for those who love Lestat and all the other characters that are usually in Anne Rice's books and you'll love the new ones introduced here!
The narration was good. There were times where I would have wanted the narration handled a bit differently, but it was a good narration.

Revisado: 04-27-15
I really did enjoy this book. There were intense moments when I said to myself 'that can't happen'. The narrator Holter Graham did a great job. It's always a pleasure to listen to him. I felt that the end was rushed way too much. I wish it would have lasted longer. I felt like I do when I get rushed out the door 3 seconds after I finish eating. As well there were some details and particulars that should have been delved into more.
Once again Sherrilyn Kenyon has given us another gem. I did like most of the story except for what I mentioned above. I don't know how she keeps giving us these great books to read but I hope she keeps doing it and never stops.

Revisado: 08-25-14
I had some friends tell me not to get this book as it was not good. Well, I don't know what they were talking about or what they were thinking. This really was a good book! Not perfect but most definitely not bad.
I love that David Grimm includes experiences with and feelings about his cats. Also, I enjoyed the variety within the types of people that he spent time with while 'researching' this book. There were so many great moments here. It was very worth it to me to have spent one of my credits on this book, I really enjoyed it.
Graham Hamilton was a good narrator for this book. He did a good job.
I do recommend this book and I will be listening to it again.

When will it end?
Revisado: 08-22-14
My question refers to evil. Will people who commit evil acts continue to get away with it?
Perhaps some will think that has nothing to do with this book, but that is what I was left feeling when I finished this book.
There is much of the book that is quite hard to get through due to the horrid (that's the best word I can come up with at the moment but nowhere strong enough) things that happen and are discovered. Which leads me to another thought what is going to happen to the women and girls and innocent children. Is there something we can do for them?
I am glad that I came upon this book and that I have listened to it. I'm not sure if I would've gotten through it if I was reading it myself. I do feel that it was worth the credit that I spent on it.
I am hoping that Rebecca Musser will give us another book in the future and I applaud her for her courage and determination. Thank you for sharing this book with us.

How do we deal with guilt?
Revisado: 08-22-14
I find it hard to describe the experience that this book provides but I need to try. I have both the physical copy of this book as well as this audio. It was very much worth it to me to get both forms. I was anxious for this book to come out for a long time and it was worth the wait. As usual Sherrilyn Kenyon sent me on a roller-coaster ride emotionally and this time the ride was epic!! I was left with a great sense of guilt for having judged Styxx without knowing his story as I've heard that many other people did as well.
I've since read this book a couple extra times and I'm sure that I will give it at least one more perusal. I really enjoyed the narration for this book. Fred Berman did a great job and I don't have any complaints.
It's my opinion that everyone needs to experience this book!!!
There are parts of the book that are hard to get through but there are also amazing wonderful moments. I will probably be saying this for quite some time but I'll only say it once here: I LOVE this book!!!!!

Diva's Diary Amazes
Revisado: 07-25-14
When I came across this book I didn't hesitate. I had to have it. For me Joan Rivers has always been the best. The thought of a diary by Joan Rivers made me feel all tingly with anticipation.
This book was an amazing experience. I loved the whole thing. I wish that the diary would have covered every single day of the year for which this diary covers. Some days are missing. I can think of many good reasons why these days would have been missed and I do understand. We can't all have everything we want, right? Well, I sometimes think we all should have everything we need. Let me tell you this book came to me at a time when I really needed it. (I've been going through such troubles this year) This book got me smiling and laughing and that was what I was really in need of!!
Thank you so much Joan Rivers for this book. You're always amazing!!
I'm so glad that you narrated this book yourself, your words always need to be heard in your voice. You're unique and your voice is unique. I enjoyed this book so much.
It was very much worth the credit I used to get this book and I have already listened more than once. Everyone really needs to get this book, it's an experience you won't regret.

Good book but disappointing
Revisado: 07-12-14
This book was quite good. I found it annoying and frustrating the way in which the story switches between Tyen and Rielle. Another thing that bothered me was that I was fully expecting something to happen between two of the characters and it never did. It is a good story well written however.
The narration was quite good. I was pleased with both narrators and didn't have any complaints. I must mention though that I did enjoy Hannah Norris the most. There wasn't anything lacking with Grant Cartwright. He narrated just as good as Hannah Norris, I can't explain why I enjoyed her narration more but I did.
I'm not sure if I will be listening to this book again anytime soon. I wouldn't have any problems listening to it again, but there are so many other books out there and too little time.

My ears needed time to recover
Revisado: 04-20-14
I was really anxious to sink my teeth into this course. The subject matter was truly satisfying for me (I love soaking up all the history that I can). The course itself was great! I thoroughly enjoyed the course itself. However, this was much overshadowed by the 'performance' . I don't know if it's just his style of lecturing but Professor Kenneth W. Harl seemed to always be yelling. There would be times where this approach would have improved the presentation of the lecture if done sparingly. When he seems to be yelling all the time through every lecture through the whole course this most definitely ruined it for me.
I highly doubt I will ever be listening to this again just because of the 'performance'. The 'performance' is what ruined this course for me and therefore why I rated it the way that I did. I've since noticed that Professor Harl has done many other courses whose subject matter I very much would like to learn of, but I am extremely hesitant to get them due to how he narrated this one.

Historia
Helene Wecker's dazzling debut novel tells the story of two supernatural creatures who appear mysteriously in 1899 New York. Chava is a golem, a creature made of clay, brought to life by a strange man who dabbles in dark Kabbalistic magic. When her master dies at sea on the voyage from Poland, she is unmoored and adrift as the ship arrives in New York Harbor. Ahmad is a jinni, a being of fire, born in the ancient Syrian Desert. Trapped in an old copper flask by a Bedouin wizard centuries ago, he is released accidentally by a tinsmith in a Lower Manhattan shop.

Give me another!
Revisado: 04-19-14
I liked the beginning. I appreciated finding out the reasons behind why the Golem was made. There is tragedy and comedy in this book in a good way. Such as the way the Jinni is released from his 'prison'. It did bother me by how long it took for the Golem and the Jinni to meet. Their meeting could have happened a lot sooner. Also, I wasn't very happy with the ending. However, the ending did leave me feeling that there should be many more books to follow this one. I did look and wasn't able to find one.
George Guidall did a good job narrating this book. I have no complaints here. I have heard some of his narrations that I didn't like as much as this one. Here he really did do a good job.
This book is a definite must read/listen. I was very happy with it and disappointed when it was nearing the end for I did want more. It was well worth the credit spent!
