Historia
Miss Camilla Pierpont, a renowned matchmaker and influential member of the New York Four Hundred, has vowed never to marry after suffering a devastating heartbreak during her debut years ago. However, when she is nearly abducted along the Hudson River, she finds herself rescued by an annoyingly outspoken, albeit fascinating, gentleman who challenges her in a manner she wasn't expecting.

Fast Paced Humor!
Revisado: 07-20-24
While I enjoyed the story and the humor it wasn’t my favorite! I will listen to it again because Jen Turano has an amazing gift for humor.
The narrator Did Not suit Owen, who was described as a tall, broad shoulders handsome man. I just couldn’t imagine him with a squeaky voice. The narrator did fit the other characters. I liked the fact that their was romance, mystery, and a lot of humor with a message to this book. Carrying grudges doesn’t help in creating harmony. Life is so much easier when we forgive past grievances and move on to accept people for who they are.
I loved the fact, that a person from the New York 400, could appreciate and value the people who come from A very different life style. It makes life so much more colorful when you can blend different lifestyles.
Thank you Jen for writing another great book that makes this world a brighter place.

Historia
A gifted trainer in a time women are not allowed to race, Nora Fenton prefers horses to men. They're easier to handle, they're more reliable, and they never tell her what to do. After her father's passing, Nora is determined to save her struggling horse farm, starting with entering her prize colt into the harness races at the 1905 Mississippi Fair. If she wins, she may have a chance at independence. But when a stranger arrives and starts asking disconcerting questions, she suspects he may have other motives than unseating her in the training job that is rightfully hers.

I am excited to find this Author
Revisado: 06-22-24
This book had many twist and turns. I am usually good at discovering who did what and I have to admit this one threw me a bit.
I really enjoyed that there was a woman who could take the bull by the
Horns. There were a couple of times I felt she retreated inside of herself. The mothers role was questionable regarding her emotions.
But I enjoyed the way the Author told a story of love and attraction. The chemistry was very strong, she kept there physical desires building but kept it clean.
The Narrator drops her voice to make a point. This is very frustrating because I can’t hear what she is saying and I have to go back and turn the volume up to hear.
Great story overall and I highly recommend it. I will seek out other books by this author.

Historia
After living an opulent life with her aunt for the last few years, the last thing 25-year-old Isabella Garcia wants is to have to celebrate Christmas in the small silver-mining town her father and mother founded in the desert. She'd rather stay in California with the handsome Diego Morales, who is courting her. Isabella is further miffed to have to bear the company of Aaron Bailey, a businessman with the Santa Fe Railroad, whom her father has sent to escort her safely home. Aaron finds Isabella spoiled, and she finds him judgmental.

A great story and I really like this author.
However I don’t care for this narrator. She sounds much to old for the part of Isabella, who is only 25.
I appreciate the reference to God and the fact he guides our lives.

A Beautiful Story
Revisado: 06-05-24
Such a wonderful story about letting go of the past and forgiveness!
Some children grow up wearing the mistakes their parents made and feeling like the have to make restitution for them.
I so enjoy a clean romance. It is far more stimulating then one that doesn’t leave anything to the imagination.
Cassandra Campbell is a great narrator. She is now one of my favorites.

Excellent story
Revisado: 06-03-24
First, the narrator would be better for children’s books. Her voice is to young for the male characters. She is a good story teller but not for adult male parts.
I really liked the theme of forgiveness. We all have different issues in our lives and need forgiveness. The women in this series are strong and jump in when needed to handle the different emergencies. Great examples of give and take in marriage.
It was very difficult for the Indians to have to give up their lands and their ability to hunt for the food they have always eaten.
My ancestors were part of the Trail of Tears and my father was born in Northern Oklahoma.
Great Series but I don’t care for this narrator.

Such a Twist on Romance
Revisado: 05-05-24
I enjoyed the narrator and her ability to create voices that supported the characters. It was such a delight to listen to a story where I couldn’t predict the exact ending. Understanding they would Fall in love was an absolute but I couldn’t figure out how Cousin Craig played into the picture. That was the twist. I also loved she had parents who adored her and promoted her dreams and her trust. I haven’t listened to the first series, but look forward

A Soul Searing Delightful Story!
Revisado: 04-20-24
An excellent love story! A story of forgiveness, finding love and turning to the Lord. I really like it when an author has the ability to write a love story with passion and not have to be explicit regarding their personal physical relationship. Yet have the ability for the reader to use their own imagination.
I was a little surprised at the ending. I thought something bad was really happening! Won’t say more because I don’t want to ruin it for you.

Great job with all the different personalities. Ideally liked how Lincoln was such a strong character and overcoming his past and assisting others to do the same. Jannie was to good to be true for me but I also could see her stubbornness in not wanting help all the time and the feeling she could handle if. I also understand the isolation as I do the same thing.
Very good book and grateful the author could write a love story without making it sleazy!

Isabelle Rackham knows she will not marry for love. Though arranged marriages have fallen out of fashion, hers has been settled for some time to combine the upper-middle-class wealth of her father’s coal mines with Alexander Osgood’s prospering Northern country textile mills. Though not a man prone to romantic gestures, Alexander is well known as an eligible bachelor. His good looks have turned more than one head, so Isabelle is content to think of herself as Alexander’s wife.

The Will to Recover and Love
Revisado: 04-17-24
This was such an heart felt story of 2 people overcoming adversity and falling in love. I also appreciated the inclusion of the family with a young lady with special needs and their love for her.
The narrator was good. She was expressive and I could hear her. So many narrators use a soft breathy voice that is annoying so thank you.
I recommend this to anyone who wants to feel good after listening.
