Struggled with this one ...
Revisado: 02-22-24
This story had a little too much inner dialogue making it hard to keep interest at times. Would have enjoyed more direct character interaction and conversations. The one character thinking that the other in the fated mate scenario has betrayed them somehow, is getting a little old.

The ending... there needs to be more
Revisado: 05-15-20
I’ve listened to two of Frey’s books now. The story’s are overall good and I very much enjoy Samantha Desz narrative style. I have a slight disappointment with Frey’s ending style. She spends a lot of time and detail on development of the story line and getting you to invest in the characters and then just suddenly ... it’s over! I’m left filling unfulfilled by the hours I just spent. It’s like she got tired of the story line and wanted to move on to something else or her deadline was approaching and she just needed to wrap things up quickly. There could have been more details given.

Historia
Single mother Lee has the daily routine down to a science: shower in six minutes. Cut food into perfect squares. Never leave her on-the-spectrum son Mason in someone else’s care. She’ll do anything - anything - to keep his carefully constructed world from falling apart. Do anything to keep him safe. But when her best friend Grace convinces her she needs a small break from motherhood to recharge her batteries, Lee gives in to a weekend trip. Surely a long weekend away from home won’t hurt?

What now???
Revisado: 03-25-20
The sequence of the story telling was at times odd and slow. The repeating of the same phrase a few different times, for what seemed like an eternity, was annoying to say the least. Hard to skip through that in an audible version not knowing how long it will last. Felt like the ending did not at all align with the self narratives of the character. It felt like it wasn’t the original ending that maybe the editor or publisher demanded something “different” or “surprising” or the writer just wanted to end the story abruptly and threw something together last minute to meet a deadline. Samantha Desz has a good narrator voice.

Such a roller coaster!
Revisado: 12-24-18
Overall a good book. Definitely a roller coaster of emotions. At times I felt impatient because the point wasn’t being gotten to. At times annoyed ... even down right angry at the wife! So much I had to stop listening for the day. She reminded me way too much of my husbands x-wife! Then I’d be smiling the left warm inside. And of course it wouldn’t be a Sparks book without the tears. Sobbing heart wrenching tears! Overall I enjoyed the book.
