Historia
In February 1959, a group of friends went on a ski-hiking trip to a remote mountain in the northern Urals. Something killed them. When a rescue expedition eventually found their camp, they discovered that for some unknown reason, the nine friends had cut their way out of their tent (instead of simply opening the flaps) and fled down the mountain, half undressed and without their shoes.

BORING AS HELL!!
Revisado: 10-01-22
this was probably the most unoriginal and boring take of the D.P mystery ever! really bland storytelling that was wrote in the aspect of a science report instead of a engaging, interesting story. also the characters have the most ridiculous names which makes it hard to remember which character is which! also also, the characters are supposed to be from Russia and the surrounding areas but the narrator makes them sound like the most posh British gents you've ever met!! I know the narrator is from the u.k and he probably didn't want to try a Russian accent but cmon! at least try to make them sound a little tougher than rich British dudes who play polo in $5000 boots!

Whatever you do, do not listen. Ignore that pull, the need to escape from drudgeries of life and find peace and solitude within nature. It is not the cool breeze and the scent of pine that whispers your name. No, these things within the forest will rip out your heart and devour your soul. You will tremble as they revel in your madness, taking everything from you and leaving you with nothing. Delve inside this anthology of what truly lurks within the shadows of the trees. We dare you to take this journey with us and find out what horrors await you.

Great book of short stories!
Revisado: 06-15-21
This book really surprised me with the quality of its short stories! The stories were visceral and savage. I believe out of about 20 stories there were only 2 or 3 that were weak. Trust me buy this book you won't regret it!

Excellent!
Revisado: 06-09-21
This is an amazing vampire story that won't disappoint you! The main character is a realistic bad ass and not the super perfect stereotypical protagonist that dominate so many other novels. No annoying side characters or eye rolling dumb decisions. The story is simple but so brilliantly executed. The main villain is really interesting and great as well. I can't forget to mention the narrator is awesome and has great vocal range for all of his characters unlike some others. He also has some of the best VA for female characters that sound realistic and is not annoying at all. I hope the author makes this a series because there is tons of potential for more stories with these characters. Just buy it already!

In ghastly harmony with the nightmarish visions of the award-winning writer's novels, these stories blend a lifelong appreciation of horror culture with the grotesque fascinations and childlike terrors that are the author's own.

Terrible!
Revisado: 10-01-20
What an extremely convoluted, boring, pg rated horror, and a whole bunch of talking about irrelevant random crap of a book! What was the author thinking when he wrote this mess? It seems like he tried to hard to be a Edgar Allen poe, H G wells, H. P Lovecraft style of an author instead of staying in his own lane! The stories made no sense most of the time and it sounded like a bunch of babbling from random characters in every story. Most of it was confusing because he went out of his way to be way too wordy just to describe the simplest things. Also the stories wasn't even close to being horror based at all. Because the author wold tell the readers in detail about 20 different irrelevant items instead of focusing on the subject at hand and then the story is just over. In one of the stories I couldn't tell if he was trying to describe the perpetrators as zombies, vampires, or just a bunch of mentally challenged folks who created a random tribe just for getting bit by someone. Yeah it's that stupid, so don't even think too hard about how ridiculous that sounds or even bother reading this garbage!

Excellent story, performance and characters!
Revisado: 08-13-20
This was a awesome story to listen to! The plot might take a little bit of time to get going but damn the author did a great job at world building and at the characters backstory without boring you at all. The horror elements are very well done and the author doesn't hold back on the violence and the gore elements, which I love! But it's not over the top and the characters are not invincible Mary Sue's either. There are some eye rolling cliché moments and some terrible decisions made by certain side characters but they only happen may be 2 or 3 times throughout the entire story. Which is very damn good for a story of this length! I won't spoil the story at all but just know the characters are extremely well written and the story is deeply engaging and the horror aspect makes it even more amazing. I am looking forward to more books from this author and narrator combo. I am very well pleased I found this amazing horror story after I been so disappointed in some of the very top recommendations in the horror category. There are some highly rated, garbage horror books out there that you need to stay away from! Unless you enjoy the methodical torture of being slowly bored to death. So ignore those highly pretentious, extremely over rated, arthouse style horror books and take a chance on this wonderful gem of a horror story!

a good mix of different horror elements
Revisado: 08-07-20
I thought this was a good but not great story. It was entertaining and the author didn't shy away from the gruesome aspects like certain stories that water down the horror genre. The 13 ghosts movie was definitely a strong influence in this story. I appreciate the fact at least the author took influences from that instead of just doing another boring ghost haunting story.
