If you could take any character from The Kitchen House out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Belle and Mama Mae -they have such strength and were willing to sacrifice for others
Any additional comments?
Absolutely loved this book! Am going to recommend it for our book club because I want the chance to discuss the many issues and themes in the book. I especially enjoyed the extra from the author at the end explaining how the story presented itself to her. Having the different voices helped the story along and added to the emotion of the events.

confusing to hear
Revisado: 09-20-07
I think this book has an interesting storyline but it got confusing to listen to it. There wasn't enough information to let you know "when" each chapter was taking place. I got a little bored with it and feel I missed the sense of the plot and where she was intending to go with it...and it's un-abridged!
