If you loved the movie you will love this also!
Revisado: 06-19-12
What did you love best about Gone with the Wind?
I loved the story completely. The book gave far more details than the movie and i have loved the movie for years. Although i knew what was going to happen and how it was going to end i found myself wishing for a different out come or a sequel! The characters are what i loved the best about this book, the characters are well developed and i found myself thinking about them long after i finished the book.
Which character – as performed by Linda Stephens – was your favorite?
i really enjoyed Rhett Butler, what a guy! I loved his complexity and honesty far beyond his time. What a character, he still seems so real!

Historia
A stark tale of adultery, guilt, and social repression in Puritan New England, The Scarlet Letter is a foundational work of American literature. Nathaniel Hawthorne’s exploration of the dichotomy between the public and private self, internal passion, and external convention, gives us the unforgettable Hester Prynne, who discovers strength in the face of ostracism and emerges as a heroine ahead of her time. As Kathryn Harrison points out in her introduction, Hester is “the herald of the modern heroine”.

Historia
He is a man capable of abandoning two sailors in an open boat, yet he is an avid and thoughtful reader of the moral philosophers. He is Wolf Larsen, captain of the seal-hunting Ghost and the unforgettable protagonist of one of the world's great sea novels. Tormented by his own convictions, Larsen is an enigma both fascinating and repellent to his reluctant crewman, Humphrey Van Weyden. Throughout their long and perilous voyage together, the captain's ruthless belief in the survival of the fittest is pitted against Van Weyden's "civilization".

Why we think it’s a great listen: A masterpiece like none other, Brooks’ powerful performance of Haley’s words has been known to leave listeners in tears. It begins with a birth in an African village in 1750, and ends two centuries later at a funeral in Arkansas. And in that time span, an unforgettable cast of men, women, and children come to life, many of them based on the people from Alex Haley's own family tree.
