Historia
Mary Oliver has published fifteen volumes of poetry and five books of prose in the span of four decades, but she rarely performs her poetry in live readings. Now, with the arrival of At Blackwater Pond, Mary Oliver has given her audience what they've longed to hear: the poet's voice reading her own work.

Divine
Revisado: 08-17-22
Mary Oliver is by far one of the kindest souls, ever since I found her poetry it has made nature more spirtual to me--more precious and deserving of attention. All of the poems in this book have their own standing, and importance. Each one is like a prayer to mull over. To think about while the day becomes night, and night becomes day.

Historia
Tell a stranger that you talk to yourself, and you’re likely to get written off as eccentric. But the truth is that we all have a voice in our head. When we talk to ourselves, we often hope to tap into our inner coach but find our inner critic instead. When we’re facing a tough task, our inner coach can buoy us up: Focus - you can do this. But, just as often, our inner critic sinks us entirely: I’m going to fail. They’ll all laugh at me. What’s the use?

Good for overthinkers
Revisado: 08-14-22
I stumbled on this book while listening to 'The Happiness Lab' podcast, in a question-listener episode. I found this book to be helpful as an overthinker. It was full of stategies on how not let your thoughts become painful rumination. I can't wait to use some of these stategies!

Historia
Winter lasts most of the year at the edge of the Russian wilderness, and in the long nights, Vasilisa and her siblings love to gather by the fire to listen to their nurse’s fairy tales. Above all, Vasya loves the story of Frost, the blue-eyed winter demon. Wise Russians fear him, for he claims unwary souls, and they honor the spirits that protect their homes from evil. Then Vasya’s widowed father brings home a new wife from Moscow. Fiercely devout, Vasya’s stepmother forbids her family from honoring their household spirits, but Vasya fears what this may bring.

A story of great adventure
Revisado: 04-28-19
In the beginning there are great stories of the frost demon, and the cold winter in the presence of large warm ovens. Watch as Vasya runs through the forest as a young age, to her grown years of a strong woman. It is a story with family, warm oven breads, mad priests and demons in the woods. You will not be disappointed.

Historia
Briony has a secret. She believes her secret killed her stepmother, destroyed her twin sister’s mind, and threatens all the children in the Swampsea. She yearns to be rid of her terrible secret, but risks being hanged if she tells a soul. That’s what happens to witches: They’re hanged by the neck until dead. Then Eldric arrives - Eldric with his golden mane and lion eyes and electric energy - and he refuses to believe anything dark about Briony. But he wonders what’s been buried beneath her self-hatred, hidden in Rose’s mangled thoughts, and whispered about by the Old Ones.
