Neta Jackson does it again! This is the last book in the House of Hope series. The ending however , leaves you wondering. What will happen to Lucy? The characters in this book and with others in the series are so believable and real. I'm formerly from Chicago and the description of the neighborhoods bring back memories .

Would you listen to Lights of Lowell again? Why?
Yes, I would listen to this audiobook again. truly enjoyed this book. It takes place during slavery. The characters are realistically portrayed and the historical events vividly depicted. I am a fan of Tracie Peterson and Judith Miller. Their work is so inspirational.
What other book might you compare Lights of Lowell to and why?
Lynn Austin has a book, Light Unto My Path which is similar during the same time period.
Which character – as performed by Linda Stephens – was your favorite?
I love the Irish brogue of the characters: Kira and Rogan, also Mammy.

I really reacted negatively towards Bradley and at first, Malcolm

Would you listen to The Hope Within again? Why?
Although the book started off slowly, I enjoyed it. The book held my interest til the end. All the characters were real as well as their experiences. I would recommend this book if one enjoys reading about the pioneer way of life and likes Christian fiction.
