The story resolves nicely, and the narration is good. I just decided I really don't love this genre of tension building ghost stories.

I love Jennifer Weiner, but this just didn’t quite resonate for me. However, I’m not sad about the time I spent reading it.

I feel like now that I have finished the series, I'm leaving behind people I came to know and like in a place I've always loved -- The Outer Banks.

I am so excited to read other Diane Chamberlain books and can recommend this listen to anyone who loves to learn about how people react to different situations and trials in their life but who ultimately celebrate family in all its forms.

I will miss Arielle Delisle's voice and will look for her narrations again on a book I'm excited to listen to.

The combination of a story set in a place I love (the outer banks of North Carolina) and beautiful narration have me totally enthralled.

I really enjoyed the diary part of the story, although I see some people did not. It was fascinating to me to hear about the OBX in war time, and to have the old coast guard station brought to life.

Love Sophie Kinsella! Not my Favorite Book!

I enjoyed listening to this book ... by the time it was all over. But that feeling, of OMG! I have to find an excuse to vacuum so I can listen to my new Sophie Kinsella book, didn't come quickly.

The story will be a familiar one for Kinsella fans, Samantha the heroine must deal with a fast-paced job where she runs with sharks, a life-changing event happens to bump our Samantha off the fast-track, and she finds herself in a very unlikely spot, where wonder of wonders she finds that the not-so highly paced track has its appeal as well. By the time the second conflict of will she go back or not go back now that the choice is entirely hers rolls round -- you are just a couple of chapters away from the end of the book.

In the end, I loved Samantha -- and even more I recognized her. Rosalyn Landor is a fantastic narrator. But this book just took too much time to get bubbling for me. Still a huge Sophie Kinsella fan and can't wait to read her next book.

It took me a little bit to get into Twenties Girl, but once I did ... I was all the way in. I found myself loving Aunt Sadie. I loved the story of her life, her love affair with the neighbor and her missing necklace. Of course, I also really enjoyed Lara's story. I was happy to read about supportive parents as I found them very familiar and the charm of this story was just a total joy. I am a Sophie Kinsella fan, and this book was totally satisfying. Two thumbs up!

Everytime I pick up or listen to a new Jennifer Weiner title, I think I look for Candy Shaprio. Ruthie was no Candy. As the key character of this novel, Ruthie is certainly likable as is her grandmother. It felt like there were autobiographical elements here, and maybe even a treatise on the TV show production business -- and while interesting to learn how TV shows are put together, I just never found myself able to fully embrace Ruthie or her story as I have other Jennifer Weiner titles. If you are a die hard Weiner fan, you have no choice but to read The Next Best Thing -- and you will likely find something to enjoy, but if you are a Weiner newbie ... I cannot completely recommend The Next Best Thing.

This book starts out with a bang when Poppy loses her engagement ring and mobile phone at an event that is supposed to be serving as her bridal tea. The ensuing scene has her signing and dancing for a Japanese businessman after she finds the discarded mobile phone of an executive assistant who has quit her job for a high-powered executive. To say this book starts out with a bang and keeps that pace throughout is an understatement. It's funny, tender, warm-hearted, charming, and sweet!

I especially enjoyed Jayne Entwistle's performance. It was worth a credit and the hours I spent listening. I can highly recommend especially if you are a fan of Ms. Kinsella!
