Surprisingly emotional. Great narration!

Greg Sestero's performance is fantastic, his retelling of his story comes across as honest and emotional and feels like being confided in by an old friend over drinks as opposed to an actor reading a book. I felt more uncomfortable than I expected to with some parts. Greg Sestero is the best part of this book, he has a likable voice and is a talented mimic and makes a raw and personal story easier to listen to than another performer who would not have connected as much with the material.

Pretty good except for one fatal flaw in the narration. The narrator switches between pronouncing a name as Armitage and Artimage before ultimately settling on the wrong pronouncination.

What made the experience of listening to The Shadow over Innsmouth (Dramatized) the most enjoyable?

The acting is fantastic

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Shadow over Innsmouth (Dramatized)?

Without delving into spoilers, there is a chase sequence which in the original is very tense and keeps you anxious and on the edge of your seat. I am very pleased that this production came the closest to recreating that sensation with the scene.

Any additional comments?

With the exception of the character names used this is a very faithful retelling of the short story, however I feel it works better as a companion piece to the original story as opposed to a replacement of. If you can only get one then get the original, but if you can afford both then this performance is a wonderful accent to the original.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Starship Troopers?

The end credits actually, to hear the copyright is from 1959 really drove home just how far ahead of it's time this book really was.

What about Lloyd James’s performance did you like?

He had a youthful voice and was very believable as our narrator Johnny Rico. Although at least once per chapter it sounds like it switches narrators for a few words, very distracting but you get used to it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened in 2 sittings, one on an 8 hour car ride and then on the way back.

Any additional comments?

Though it does have some very good scenes of science fiction action the story is first and foremost a fictional biography of a young soldier throughout his career in the distant future, which us far more entertaining than that sentence may suggest.
