Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Worst & Most Bizarre Accents Ever
Revisado: 06-20-22
The male narrator has the most bizarre assortment of accents that a. Make no sense and b. Are absolutely terrible. I don’t understand why every person sounds like they are from a different place and yet every single one has the annunciation of a classical singer. Grated my ears the entire 8.5 hours. Completely bizarre. The woman is fine. I stuck to it because I didn’t want to waste the credit but I wanted to tear my eardrums out and I will never buy a book again that this guy narrates.

Historia
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

Read for feelings of unease
Revisado: 05-25-22
The first narrator will throw you for a loop but you will then realize why his voice sounds so odd - hang in there the cast is amazing. This was one of my favorites to listen to instead of read. The story has you at the edge of your seat while you also have that terrible feeling of “I know what comes next.” I finished this a few days ago and the unease is lasting. Absolutely an experience. Loved it.
