And then it just stopped. Not sure why the author just stopped - seemed like it ought to go further, so while it was good as far as it went, it felt like it was missing a last chapger.

Cute and well done. But missing how the detective really got to figure things out. Just kind of jumped to the solution in the end without really developing the detective' s thought process.

Enjoyed it but...

I had a hard time keeping the story straight. Either I missed a bunch (I do fall asleep while listening in the hot tube sometimes) or I couldn't adequately distinguish the characters all the time just by their voices . But overall a good story.about growing up is sometimes painful.

Interesting perspective on Nazi germany

Loved being able to understand the German bits and pieces. Reminds you that you don't always know who is telling the truth.

Not worth bothering with

The story line is interesting enough, but it's raunchy just for the sake of being raunchy without adding anything to the story and it gets old. Plus, the volume level is horribly uneven. I like to listen to audiobooks while driving. If it's loud enough to hear the soft parts, the loud parts are painfully loud, and if the volume is set so you can hear the loud parts without pain at normal volume, you totally can't hear the quieter parts. This is one of the few audiobooks I've purchased that I have no interest in finishing.

Loved it and hated it

The story itself was fabulous - a fascinating potential backstory. But the sound quality was abominable in that it was highly variable so you had to turn the volume way up to listen to the quiet parts and then all of a sudden it would be much louder and blast your ears out until you can get the sound turned down quickly. So it was really frustrating to listen to even though I enjoyed the story greatly overall. If you listen to the story in a completely quiet environment this will be a problem. But listening to it in the car or in the hot tub or at the gym where there is other noise going on around you means that the sound is really hard to regulate. And this is regardless of whether you were listening to it over speakers or through earbuds.
