This was life changing. I recommend this book before and after reading the big book. It has good tips to use while reading it and then gives some interesting perspectives on what was just read. The narration was also very good!

Historia
Shelby works as a dog walker in northern California, and she’s just finished up her bi-weekly trip to the park with a husky named Pluto. When she brings him back to his house, she finds his owner - Todd Burke, a well-known local businessman and founder of an organic supplements company - lying on the bathroom floor, dead. A detective arrives on the scene. As she interviews Shelby, the body is inspected by a medical examiner, and more cops search Todd’s home, it becomes clear that the victim’s life was less picture-perfect than his clean-cut persona might lead you to believe.

Not the most thrilling audiobook but a wonderful story that left me feeling a better person after having ridden this journey with the narrator and the author.

Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. These stories are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

A Must Read!
Revisado: 05-17-17
What made the experience of listening to Stories I Only Tell My Friends the most enjoyable?
Rob Lowe surprised me with his wit, humor and humbleness. He is well spoken and has an often humorous take on situations. I listened to both of his books the same week and I was sad when I was finished. Truly enjoyable books that gave me new hope that there are still good people out there, famous or not
Who was your favorite character and why?
Rob Lowe because the book is autobiographical- and he is the best character as well as his friends and family .
Which scene was your favorite?
I enjoyed when the author made fun of his past self. He seems to be a little surprised that he survived his younger days yet relishes in the freedom he grew up with out in Malibu which especially in those days, was very far away from much nightlife.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The emotion that comes through in his voice when talking about the love he has for his wife and kids.
Any additional comments?
This book is a great example of "Don't read a book by its cover". If you're like me, then Rob Lowe was known as a shallow playboy actor and not be very bright. Not only is he bright, but he is also a great storyteller.

Historia
LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

Love, Love, Love this story
Revisado: 02-04-17
As an animal lover it was hard to get through first couple of chapters. Stick with it and you won't regret it. I love how Maggie the German Shepard has her own voice briefly throughout the book and we can actually see the world as she does. The plot has many different levels and they are all so interesting that when the book switches to another plot line I was not bothered. Wonderful book and excellent narration.

Historia
One of the comedy world's fastest-rising stars tells his wild coming of age story during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. Noah provides something deeper than traditional memoirists: powerfully funny observations about how farcical political and social systems play out in our lives.

I was blown away by this story
Revisado: 02-04-17
Trevor tells the story of growing up in S.Africa that should be made into a movie. He tells it his stories from his view as a child as well as looking back in hindsight with the knowledge he now has. He does this seamlessly. I can't stop thinking about the young Trevor and his amazing mother. I wish it didn't have to end.

So well done!!! I feel I have a new friend
Revisado: 07-11-15
I love the way Frederik speaks to his listeners as equals. He is charismatic, funny, humble and honest. He doesn't say things to be politically correct. He tells it how it is. And he has countless nuggets of wisdom. I'm going to immediately listen to it again to pick up on anything I may have missed.
